Luxury resort Lumine in the Spanish region of Costa Daurada welcomed industry professionals from around the world last week for the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM).
The event took place from November 11-14 and was the 16th edition of the premier golf travel show.
The Lumine resort is co-managed by Costa Daurada and Troon, and the 4,000-person PortAventura Convention Centre proved the perfect base for the show to take place in.
In his keynote address at the IGTM show, IAGTO CEO Peter Walton presented positive findings from IAGTO’s Global Golf Tourism Report 2013, highlighting a 9.3% growth in global golf tour operator sales in 2012 over 2011.
“With our report showing a steady, healthy growth of the sector, I believe we can all look forward to a third consecutive year of golf tourism growth in 2014 – an optimistic forecast I am confident will be reflected in next year’s global golf tourism survey,” he said.
All Square cofounder and CEO, Patrick Rahme, had the opportunity to attend the IGTM and introduce the newly launched All Square platform to many professionals in the golf industry. Among the many attendees that Patrick met, he was particularly happy to meet Kevin Murray who is considered as one of the best golf photographers in the world. Kevin covered over 300 courses all over the world and explored all four corners of the globe. Rolex uses some of Kevin’s images in their global advertising campaigns promoting the game of golf.
The IGTM was a great event to network and build relationships with professioanls from the golf travel market. Next year’s IGTM will be held from 27-30 October 2014 in Como, Italy.
