The Els Club Vilamoura: Golfing Grandeur in the Algarve

Chris Gotterup delivered a commanding performance at The Renaissance Club to secure the biggest win of his professional career at the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open. With a composed final-round 66, Gotterup closed out the tournament at 15-under-par, fending off fierce competition from Rory McIlroy and Marco Penge to claim his second PGA Tour victory — and his first on European soil.

The 25-year-old leaned on a unique blend of trusted gear and bold shot-making to navigate the firm, windswept links just outside Edinburgh. Among the tools in his arsenal were a Ping G440 LST driver, a vintage TaylorMade UDI 1-iron, and a familiar Spider Tour X putter — each playing a key role in his sharp tee-to-green performance. His decisive birdie at the par-4 16th sealed the momentum he needed to finish with confidence, capping off a round marked by poise and precision.

It’s another major step forward in what’s already shaping up to be a promising career. A former Haskins Award and Jack Nicklaus Award winner, Gotterup turned heads during his final collegiate season at Oklahoma and has been building a name for himself ever since. With wins now on both sides of the Atlantic, he’s proving he belongs on golf’s biggest stages.
So, what exactly was in the bag for this milestone moment? Let’s take a closer look at the clubs Chris Gotterup trusted to take down the field in Scotland.
