Luxury Golf Trips to Fiji and the South Pacific
We’ve all heard of the biblical story of the Garden of Eden. Well this could easily be the golf complex attached to the side of the garden. The word paradise springs to mind when you look at Infinitum near Tarragona in Catalonia, less than an hour and a half from Barcelona.
Infinitum features 45 of the newest holes in Spain. The design of this project was the work of Greg Norman and the Green Project. There are also two great clubhouses and practice facilities too. The three courses each pose differing golf challenges but are playable and will be enjoyable for golfers of any level.
The first 18-hole course is Infinitum Lakes meanders around the wetlands of Sèquia Major. This is described as a ‘links’ design and there are a lot of water features to keep you on edge. One of the most important considerations made during the design of the resort was its environmental impact. This is something that can be seen throughout this course. The Lakes seamlessly blends with its surroundings and has won awards for this.
Infinitum Ruins is a unique 9-holer as the course makes its way through ancient Roman ruins, hence the name. This is a short but tricky course that is a lot of fun to play. As an example of the dedication to preservation during the building of this complex, the olive trees that used to call this land home were transplanted to avoid just felling them.
The final 18-holes on the complex, and the most technically challenging, are on the Infinitum Hills course. This course is an exceptional piece of design from Norman. The views on offer as you make your way around the course just add to the enjoyment. The course sits on Cape Salou and makes its way through olive and carob tree plantations whilst giving the golfer wonderful views of the sea. This is a long course and certainly a challenging one. However, if you’re having a bad day just pick up your ball and have a look around, that will put a smile back on your face for sure.
Once the golf is over for the day you can then enjoy some of the other amenities on hand at Infinitum. On this front you have the tough choice of the restaurant or the beach club, life can be so cruel at times! The restaurant is of the highest standards and the exquisite Mediterranean cuisine is something to be celebrated. The restaurant is set beside the sea and, like everything here, close to nature to make it an enveloping gastronomic experience. This is sure to create many unforgettable evenings, depending on how much wine you indulge in.
If you’d like to unwind after your golf or, for some bizarre reason, you’re having a non-golf day then the beach club is on hand. The private beach at the complex is idyllic perfect for an evening stroll in the sand. If you’d rather spend time in a swimming pool, then there is a great selection of different pools available. Perfect for forgetting the shots you left out on the course too. From an infinity pool to a salt water pool, there are five choices in total so don’t worry if one is a bit busy for your liking.
Infinitum is a new arrival to the golfing world but one that is quickly becoming the epitome of golfing luxury. It is in a fantastic location and has truly wonderful facilities that will help create the most amazing golf holiday. It gets better though, if you decide that you just cannot leave, you can even live here!
