What’s in Scottie Scheffler’s Masters winning golf bag?

Scottie Scheffler has won his second Masters title in three years at Augusta National. Here’s what the world number one had in the bag.

The 27-year-old hit a four-under 68 in Sunday’s final round to finish on 11 under, four clear of Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg who finished runner-up on his debut at a major championship.

Tommy Fleetwood ended another three shots back in joint third alongside Collin Morikawa and Max Homa.

Scheffler arrived at Augusta as the clear favourite after winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship back-to-back in March followed by a runner-up finish at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.

Rory McIlroy, trying to end his decade-long drought at the Majors and complete the career grand slam, finished in T-22 on four over par. Five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods finished last of the 60 players who made the cut on 16 over.

Defending champion Jon Rahm, trying to become the first back-to-back winner since Woods in 2002, shot a 76 and finished nine over.

What’s in the bag

Scheffler ranked third in putting average for the week, continuing his improvement in this part of his game. He changed to a TaylorMade Spider Tour X X1 mallet from his Scotty Cameron blade at last month’s Arnold Palmer Invitational and the change appears to have done the trick.

The putter has an L-Neck hosel and True Path alignment aid with a full-line sight line on top. He switched to the club for increased moment of inertia, a measure of a club’s stability and forgiveness. The putter has 3 degrees of loft and a 72-degree lie angle. The insert is an 80/20 TaylorMade Pure Roll.
