Titleist Vokey Wedge Grinds: Which One is Right for Your Game?
The TGL league delivered another electric night of indoor golf drama as Jupiter Links Golf Club, led by Tiger Woods, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner, edged out Boston Common Golf—captained by Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, and Keegan Bradley—in a sudden-death overtime victory (4-3) at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
The event was more than just another golf match—it was a historic night for TGL, as it marked the first-ever TGL match to go into overtime and also introduced an unexpected moment when Tiger Woods received the league’s first-ever shot clock violation.
One of the biggest talking points of the night came early on when Tiger Woods took too long to putt on the 10th hole, resulting in a one-stroke penalty. Under TGL’s 40-second shot clock rule, players must take their shot within the allotted time, and Woods’ delay resulted in Boston Common Golf taking an early lead.
Despite the hiccup, Woods quickly regained focus and played a crucial role in Jupiter Links’ comeback.
Here’s how the action unfolded across the 15-hole format:
With the match tied at 3-3 after 15 holes, it proceeded into a sudden-death pitch-off—a format where players must hit the ball closest to the pin. Here is how the playoff unfolded:
This marked Jupiter Links’ first win of the season and was an especially meaningful victory for Woods, who looked energized throughout the match.
After the match, players reflected on the competitive energy and unique TGL format.
“I’ve shared the course with [Tiger] many times… He was feeling it out there, and it was really cool to see. We had our chances, but credit to Jupiter Links for pulling it off.”
“This is what we had envisioned for TGL—to have an experience like this—and I think we delivered.”
The match showcased TGL’s blend of high-intensity competition and innovative format, proving why the league is gaining traction among golf fans worldwide.
Following their recent victory, Jupiter Links Golf Club is set to face New York Golf Club on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 7 p.m. ET. This matchup will be broadcast live on ESPN, Fubo, and ESPN+.
In the meantime, Boston Common Golf will compete against Los Angeles Golf Club on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET, also available on ESPN, Fubo, and ESPN+.
