Meet John O’Doherty from Portugal

John O’Doherty is the latest member of the All Square Ambassador Program.

How did you get into golf?

My father introduced me to golf at the age of 14 in Dublin Ireland.

You are a member at Onyria Palmares, can you tell us what makes your club so special?

Onyria Palmares is a stunning Robert Trent Jones Jr. in Southern Portugal. It’s a championship standard and very well maintained with stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean from most holes.

Can you tell us about your most memorable golf experience?

Visiting the Masters at Augusta National and playing Pebble Beach Golf Links in 2014.

What is your favorite golf destination?

My favorite golf destinations are Pebble Beach Golf Links and Royal County Down in Northern Ireland.

What are your 3 favorite courses in Europe?

My favorite courses in Europe are Royal County Down in Northern Ireland, West Cliffs in Portugal and The European Club in Ireland.

In the UK?

My favorite courses in the UK are The North Berwick Golf Club in Scotland, Sandy Lodge Golf Club and Sunningdale Golf Club in England.

In the US?

My favorite courses in the US are Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill and Augusta National Golf Club.

In Asia?

My favorite courses in Asia are the Plantation Course at Siam Country Club, Black Mountain Golf Club and Laem Chabang International Country Club in Thailand.

What is the next golf trip you are looking forward to?

I look forward to going to Real Club de Golf de Sevilla for the Seniors Amateur Championship.
