What’s in Rory McIlroy’s Bag at The Players 2025?
Sepp Straka’s triumph at the 2025 Truist Championship was a masterclass in resilience and precision, marking his second PGA Tour victory of the season and fourth overall. Held at the historic Philadelphia Cricket Club, the tournament culminated in a riveting final round where Sepp Straka edged out Ryder Cup teammate Shane Lowry by two strokes. Straka surged ahead with an eagle on the par-5 5th and birdies on the 8th and 9th holes. Despite bogeys on the 10th and 11th that temporarily levelled the playing field, he maintained composure down the stretch. A steady par on the challenging 18th secured his victory, earning him $3.6 million from the tournament’s purse.

Straka’s equipment played a pivotal role in his success. His bag featured a Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond driver, complemented by a 3-wood and 7-wood from the same line, all equipped with premium shafts for optimal performance. His iron play was bolstered by a split set of Srixon ZXi5 (4-5) and ZXi7 (6-9) irons, paired with Cleveland RTZ wedges (46°, 52°, 56°, and 60°). On the greens, he relied on his trusted Odyssey Stroke Lab Tuttle putter, a mainstay in his bag since his rookie season.

Born in Vienna, Austria, and raised in Georgia, USA, Straka’s journey to the PGA Tour has been marked by steady progression. After turning professional in 2016, he became the first Austrian to earn a PGA Tour card. His breakthrough came with a win at The Honda Classic in 2022, followed by victories at the 2023 John Deere Classic and the 2025 American Express. Notably, Sepp Straka secured a tie for second at The Open Championship in 2023, underscoring his ability to compete at the highest levels.
Straka’s performance at the Truist Championship not only adds to his growing list of accolades but also positions him as a formidable contender in the upcoming PGA Championship at Quail Hollow. His blend of strategic play and reliable equipment continues to make him a player to watch on the tour.
