J.J. Spaun’s victory at the 2026 Valero Texas Open was a masterclass in resilience, precision, and timely shot-making. Battling through a weather-disrupted week and a marathon Sunday, Spaun surged to a 17-under finish, closing with clutch birdies and a pivotal eagle to secure his second title at TPC San Antonio. It was the kind of performance that perfectly blended patience with aggression — qualities that have increasingly defined his rise on the PGA Tour.

What makes this win even more compelling is how seamlessly J.J. Spaun’s equipment setup supports his game. At the top of the bag, he relied on a Titleist GT3 driver paired with a Fujikura Ventus Black VeloCore+ shaft, complemented by TaylorMade Qi10 fairway woods — including both a 3-wood and a versatile 7-wood option for added launch and control. His iron play, anchored by a Srixon ZXi set, once again proved to be a cornerstone of his performance, while Cleveland wedges and a trusted putter setup helped him capitalise on scoring opportunities throughout the week.

Spaun’s journey to this point hasn’t been straightforward. After earning his first PGA Tour win at this very event in 2022, he faced ups and downs — including losing and regaining his tour status — before breaking through on the biggest stage with a major victory at the 2025 U.S. Open. Now a multiple-time winner at the Valero Texas Open, J.J. Spaun is proving that his success is no fluke, but rather the result of perseverance, adaptability, and a finely tuned bag that continues to evolve with his game — and in this article, we’ll take a closer look at each club that helped him get the job done.
