Interview with teenage LET sensation Pia Babnik

We spoke to Pia Babnik, the 18-year-old Slovenian sensation who made her first birdie aged just four, joined the Ladies European Tour aged 16, and won the 2021 Jabra Ladies Open a year later.

We asked what inspired her to take up golf, why social media is important for the future of the sport, and who would play in her dream fourball.

How did you first get into golf?

I got plastic golf clubs from my parents at age 3 and I found they were great toys to play with.

What is the best thing about playing golf?

Being in nature and hitting some great and straight shots.

What is the golf achievement that you are most proud of?

3rd place at major Chevron championship this year.

Who is your greatest role model?

Tiger Woods

What is your most memorable golf experience?

Winning 6 US Kids European Championships in a row, and my first LET win at the Jabra Open in Evian.

What is your favorite thing about playing on Tour?

We always play on amazing courses and organization of the events is always great.

Do you think social media is important for the future of golf? Why?

Yes it is, since you are connected to your family and fans when you are on tour; and I am happy to share my moments with them.

Your 3 favorite golf courses in the world?

Trnovo Ljubljana as #1, for the next two I can’t decide since there are so many good courses.
