Winning WITB of Scottie Scheffler at 2025 CJ Cup
Taylor Pendrith birdied the final hole to win his first PGA Tour title at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in Texas. Here’s what he was carrying in his golf bag.
The Canadian was a shot behind Ben Kohles approaching the last, but the American missed his par putt at the 18th before Pendrith sunk a three-foot birdie putt to claim the trophy by one shot at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas.
It was the 32-year-old’s first win on the PGA Tour after two previous victories on the PGA Tour Canada.
16-year-old English amateur Kris Kim shot a two-over final round to end on six under for the tournament after becoming the youngest player to make a PGA Tour cut since 2015.
The PGA Tour now heads to North Carolina next week for the Wells Fargo Championship, one of eight signature events this season.
Pendrith was using a mixed bag of equipment featuring Ping, Srixon, Cleveland and Odyssey clubs.
At the top of his bag, he was carrying a Ping G430 LST, also used by Stephan Jaeger when he won his first title in 135 starts on the PGA Tour at the Texas Children’s Houston Open last month.
Austin Eckroat also recorded his first ever PGA Tour victory at the Cognizant Classic in March carrying the same driver, so it’s been a good couple of months for the American brand and new champions.
