Chasing Links Perfection at Barnbougle Dunes in Tasmania
We delve into the golf bag of Victor Perez, the talented Frenchman who won his first European Tour title at the 2019 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in his first full season.
The 28-year-old has made an exciting start to his career after rising quickly through the ranks on the Challenge Tour. In January 2020, Perez was a runner-up at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
Ping G410 Plus (9 degrees)
Shaft: Graphite Design iZ7X
Perez has a full bag of Ping clubs and he starts with a Ping G410 Plus driver. Standing 6’5”, you’d expect him to be a big hitter. He is so far averaging 317 yards off the tee in 2020, a full 17 yards further than last season.

He uses the Ping G410 for both his fairway woods. Louis Oosthuizen is another golfer who uses the Ping G410, but just for his 5-wood.
According to Ping, the G410 fairway woods get the ball in the air easily due to the lower lead edge, which gets the club under the ball so impact occurs higher on the face.
Ping iBlade (4 to 6-iron), Ping Blueprint (7-PW)

He then carries a combination set of Ping irons. The longer irons are iBlade’s, while for 7-iron to pitching wedge he uses Ping’s new Blueprint irons. Bubba Watson and Tony Finau also use Blueprints.
Ping Glide 3.0 (50, 56, 60 degrees)

Perez goes for the Ping Glides with three different lofts, though he has been seen using a fourth loft of 48 degrees. Viktor Hovland is another pro to opt for these wedges.
He has been seen using a Ping PLD Bruzer, but has now gone for the Ping Sigma 2. The Sigma 2 family of putters were designed for the golfer who prefers a putter on the softer side of the spectrum with the lively response of a firm face.
