Cypress Point Golf Club: The Exclusive Gem
The city’s most spectacular hotel, the W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island, is a five-star architectural wonder located at the centre of Yas Marina Circuit, home to the Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
This ‘lap of luxury’ is within walking distance of Yas Links Abu Dhabi, ranked by All Square as one of the top 100 golf courses in the world and the best in the Middle East.
Just 15 minutes by car from Abu Dhabi International Airport and downtown Abu Dhabi, W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island is ideal for couples, families and those looking for the perfect golf holiday. The hotel’s spectacular curved lattice exterior straddles land and water, and this innovative design continues inside with eye-catching sleek design and curved hallways.
There are 499 modern and stylish guest rooms and suites with LCD TVs, mood lighting, bathrooms with a separate rain shower, free internet, and floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies offering spectacular views of Yas Marina or Yas Marina Circuit. There are ‘Wonderful’, ‘Marvelous’ and ‘Spectacular ’ guest rooms, with one king or two twin beds, and if you’re feeling indulgent there’s ‘Fantastic’, ‘Fabulous’ and ‘Wow’ suites with a separate bedroom and living room. For the ultimate in luxury, there’s the large ‘Extreme Wow’ suites which are on two levels with a separate bedroom and private pool.
The spa is set over Yas Marina with nine treatment rooms, a Hammam, and a couples’ massage room. Guests can indulge in the spa’s signature treatment, Abu Dhabi Soul, or try any of the luxurious Comfort Zone treatments, from body massages to facials, manicures and pedicures. There’s also a VIP suite featuring a private steam room, Jacuzzi with a relaxation area overlooking Yas Marina, a vanity area and a couple’s treatment room.
If you’re feeling active, FIT is a 24-hour gym with state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment, a yoga area, fitness classes, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi. The hotel also has a large swimming pool.
Due to Covid-19, the spa is currently closed until further notice. FIT fitness centre is available for the guests staying at the hotel, but masks are required at all times.
The hotel is a great food and drink destination with several unique restaurants and bars. Garage, a multi-kitchen dining hub, houses five distinct cuisines, Amici serves up an authentic Italian experience, Angar dishes up a taste of India, while pastries and handcrafted coffees can be found at Roastery. W Lounge encompasses four bars serving drinks along with great views of the marina and race track, the WET Deck serves cocktails while DJs play the latest tunes, and the SUN Deck rooftop serves light bites and refreshing beverages poolside.
Cots are available for free and there is a children’s zone, free for hotel guests for up to two hours, which has a climbing wall, library, playhouse and areas suitable for both older and younger children. The hotel is also perfect for families as it’s close to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, all of which offer fantastic attractions for children.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Kids Club is temporarily unavailable.
Yas Links Abu Dhabi was designed by Kyle Phillips, one of the world’s leading golf course designers. Set on the western shores of Yas Island, it’s the first true links golf course in the Middle East where all 18 holes have views of the sparkling Arabian Gulf. It’s an immaculate, dynamic and challenging par 72, 7,450-yard layout with five tee boxes, seaside greens, pot bunkers and undulating fairways. It’s testing, but enjoyable, and has one of the most dramatic finishing stretches in golf, with the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi theme park and the Yas Marina Circuit as a backdrop. It also hosts the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open on the Ladies European Tour.
The excellent facilities include the floodlit, par 3 nine-hole Academy course where holes range from 83 to 185 yards, perfect for all golfing abilities, a golf academy and floodlit practice ranges with Toptracer technology. The club is also family friendly with juniors playing for free seven days a week on the par 3 course when playing with a paying adult.
Yas Beach is also well worth a visit. It’s a private beach club with 400m of soft, white sand, cabanas, sun loungers, watersports, a large infinity pool, a kids pool, and great food and drink options. Surrounded by mangroves, it’s a beautiful place to relax. Visitors to any of Yas Island’s hotels receive complimentary access.
Yas Island is Abu Dhabi’s entertainment district with incredible attractions like Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, one of the world’s largest theme parks with numerous high-adrenaline rides, including the world’s fastest roller coaster, the Formula Rossa. There’s Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, a huge waterpark spanning 20 acres with over 40 rides, slides, and attractions including the Bandit Bomber, the Middle East‘s longest suspended roller coaster, and Bubbles’ Barrell, the world’s largest surfable sheet wave. The park is divided into four thrill levels, catering for everyone from small children to adrenaline-seeking adults.
Yas Island also has Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, a fully air-conditioned indoor theme park that brings a host of legendary characters together, from Superman to Batman and Wonder Woman. Enjoy fantastic rides like Batman: Knight Flight, where you can fly through the skies of Gotham City, as well as interactive family-friendly attractions and unique live entertainment.
Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi’s biggest and the UAE’s second largest shopping centre, is also located close to the hotel on Yas Island. It has more than 370 stores, 60 indoor and outdoor restaurants and cafes, and a 20-screen cinema.
