The Els Club Vilamoura: Golfing Grandeur in the Algarve

Let’s take a look in the golf bag of Charlie Woods, son of 15-times major winner Tiger Woods. The pair teed up together recently at the PNC Championship, formerly known as the Father-Son Challenge.
11-year-old Charlie and Tiger finished five shots behind winners world number three Justin Thomas and his father Mike at the two-day exhibition event in Florida.

Charlie wore his dad’s famous red shirt and black trousers combination on Sunday as they played their final round – and the similarities didn’t end there. They both used an all-TaylorMade club set-up, including identical SIM drivers and MG2 wedges, and both used Tiger’s famous ‘Frank’ head covers.
But the most surprising aspect of Charlie’s set-up was the fact he was using blade irons, which can induce terror in less skilled players.
Here’s all the clubs Charlie carried in his golf bag.
TaylorMade SIM
Shaft: Project X EvenFlow Riptide CB

Both Charlie and Tiger opted for the TaylorMade SIM driver at the PNC Championship.
Tiger’s slight variation was to use the TaylorMade SIM 3-wood and the TaylorMade M3 5-wood.
TaylorMade P7MC (3-PW)
Shafts: Fujikura Vista Pro

Charlie went for the TaylorMade P7MC irons, while Tiger used TaylorMade P7TW PROTO (3-PW). Like the P7MB muscle back irons, these muscle cavity irons have been designed for pure feel. P7MC‘s classic shaping and minimal offset deliver the ultimate in control and precision, and perimeter weighting gives them a touch of forgiveness.
The P7MCs come off the back of the P750 irons recently used by former world number one Jon Rahm.
TaylorMade MG2 (56, 60 degrees)
Shafts: Fujikura Vista Pro

Both Charlie and Tiger opted for TaylorMade MG2 wedges. They combine precision-milling with Raw Face Technology designed for increased spin, precision and feel. MG2’s face features several new innovations engineered to maximize spin.
TaylorMade Spider X (Copper)
Grip: Ping PP58 (Blackout)

While Charlie went for the TaylorMade Spider X, Tiger played with a Scotty Cameron Newport GSS. But both used the same grip.
