Best Golf Equipment for Beginners in 2025
Harris English got his season off to the perfect start in January with a victory at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.
The 31-year-old American ended his seven-year title drought at the Plantation Course at the Kapalua Resort on the island of Maui in Hawaii by making a six-feet birdie putt on the first play-off hole against Joaquin Niemann.
The world number 19, now a three-time PGA Tour champion, is a Ping staffer – but which clubs does he use?
Ping G400 (9 degrees @ 9.2)
Shaft: Mitsubishi Chemical Kuro Kage XD 70 X
English chooses to play the slightly older Ping G400 range for his driver and 3-wood.
Ping G400 (14.5 degrees)
Shaft: Fujikura Atmos Blue Tour Spec 7 X
Ping G410 Crossover (20 degrees @ 21), Ping Blueprint (4-9)
Shafts: Fujikura Atmos Black Hybrid 9 X (3), True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 (4-9)
He then uses a new Ping G410 Crossover which has 21 degrees of loft. His irons go from four-iron down to nine-iron and they are all Ping Blueprints.
Ping Glide 3.0 (46, 52, 56), Ping Glide Forged (60)
Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 (46, 52, 56), True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 (60)
Like many Tour players, English plays with an extra lob wedge rather than a traditional pitching wedge. He uses four Ping wedges, three of which are Ping Glide 3.0’s which have 46, 52 and 56 degrees of loft. His 60 degree lob wedge is a Ping Glide Forged.
He closes out his bag with the Ping Scottsdale Hohum putter and the Titleist Pro V1 golf ball. At the Sentry Tournament of Champions play-off, English lagged a long putt from off the front of the green to six feet from where he won the event.
