Mexico is a country that is rich in culture and history. Did you know that it is also home to many world class golf courses? Today we want to showcase one such resort, Estrella del Mar. The resort offers so much more than a championship golf course. It is also a paradise for the whole family to enjoy!
Located in Mazatlan, on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, this is a seafood lover’s dream destination. In fact, Mazatlan is known as the ‘shrimp capital of the world’! Estrella del Mar Golf and Beach Resort is a 900 acre gated master-planned residential community featuring a Robert Trent Jones Jr. championship golf course. The location lends itself to astounding views of the ocean and a creates the perfect backdrop for the course.
With six holes running along the Pacific Coast, this Robert Trent Jones Jr. championship course is one of the best and most beautiful in Mexico. The course is maintained to the highest standards and is something golfers always remark on.
Built in 1996, the course is unmatched in the Mazatlan area for its scenery and layout it affords golfers. It is no wonder Estrella del Mar is home to the PGA Tour Latin America Mazatlan Open. At just over 7000-yards, the course is a good length to challenge advanced golfers but its many teeing options make it playable and fun for all levels.
If you fancy improving your game, the resort will be introducing the world renown John Jacobs Golf Academy. With experienced and highly trained staff on hand to help, you can elevate your game during your stay here. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned fairway warrior, your game will benefit from the academy and facilities at Estrella del Mar. When your round is over, grab a bite to eat at La Paloma. With ocean views, a great menu and a full-service bar it’s the perfect place to relax with your friends after your round.
The golf course on the property is complemented perfectly by its accommodations. With 47 ocean view and garden view hotel rooms inspired by traditional colonial Mexican design with Asian influences as well as 67 one, two and three bedroom beachfront condominiums with spectacular views of the ocean available for rent, you will feel like you have discovered paradise!
The hotel also features a relaxing spa for you to unwind after a day on the course. The Estrella del Mar Spa and Salon features beauty and treatment rooms as well as sauna and steam rooms that will help melt away the stress. The Spa and Salon offers a variety of massages, aromatherapy, reflexology and therapeutic treatments. If you want to keep your beach body in shape or warm-up before your round, the fitness room offers an ocean view with an exercise equipment and a work-out facility.
Estrella de Mar offers a variety of dining options for the entire family. The oceanfront Los Delfines restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and tropical beverages at its full-service bar. Poolside service is also available. La Paloma restaurant, located next to the golf course, features ocean views and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a full-service bar. The Barefoot Bar is the newest addition to the property and features tropical and island cocktails, wood fired pizzas, tapas, antipasto & gourmet cheeses, and much more all while enjoying relaxing ocean views and fresh ocean breezes. This is a great place to go to watch the sunset with a margarita.
Real Estate
In addition to its standing as one of Mexico’s premier resorts, Estrella del Mar is a much acclaimed master planned, resort and golf community known for its golf, beach and relaxing lifestyle on 900 oceanfront acres. There are a variety of unique real estate options at Estrella including the purchase of land, an existing home by a quality home builder, or a developer owned one, two or three bedroom furnished “beachfront condominium” priced from $195,000.00 U.S. Dollars. The properties have recently gone on sale and have already attracted buyers from France and the UK! There has never been a better time to buy property in Mexico and these condos and golf course frontage and interior lots will sell fast.
The Local Area
Apart from the ocean views on offer, it is also worth noting that there is a turtle sanctuary at Estrella del Mar. With over 100 species of birds to spot too, the resort is perfect for nature lovers. Taking advantage of one of the walking or biking trails is a great way to take in the abundant nature on-site.
For those of a more cultural persuasion, Estrella del Mar is located close to a number of ‘magical villages’. These are villages deemed by the Mexican Government, and protected by UNESCO, to have a special cultural or historical value. With many in reach of the property, you certainly have to visit at least one. The resort is also just a 10 minute drive to Stone Island, featuring a great beach and a fun, local experience.
Estrella del Mar means “star of the sea”, and this star is rising to new heights. Purchased in 2013 by one of Mexico’s most respected and successful businessmen and real estate developers, Estrella’s ownership has committed itself to the investment, comprehensive planning, and responsible development to become Mexico’s finest golf resort. As part of that commitment, the management of the resort community has exciting plans for some new amenities to further improve Estrella del Mar. Some of the additions include a Laguna Club, a Beach Club as well as a swim and tennis club to go along with a new fitness center. There are also plans to build more real estate on the property and a Beach Club too.
This is a destination that continues to evolve and develop what they offer for their guests. As you can see, Estrella del Mar is a destination with something for everyone. This is a destination that you have to visit to fully appreciate. Come and discover paradise and enjoy one of Mexico’s premier golf and beach getaways. You will not be disappointed!
