Matt Fitzpatrick claimed his maiden win on American soil and his first major title with a one-shot victory at the US Open at Brookline. Let’s take a look in his winning golf bag.
Fitzpatrick, who also won the 2013 US Amateur at The Country Club, shot a two-under 68 for a six-under total to finish one shot ahead of world number one Scottie Scheffler (67) and Will Zalatoris (69).
The 27-year-old is a rare player these days in that he doesn’t have an equipment contract, so he has the freedom to use whichever clubs he likes.
In 2021, Fitzpatrick changed from a TaylorMade M2 driver after many years, replacing it with a Titleist TSi3. He has since added way more distance to his drives, particularly this season. Then he uses a Ping G425 Max 3-wood and a Ping G410 7-wood, which almost plays like a 5-wood due to its loft.
He has been using Ping irons since he turned professional and now he has a set of Ping S55 irons in his bag, from five-iron down to pitching wedge. He’s recently changed his four-iron from a Titleist T100 to a Ping i210 model.
The Ping S55’s were released in 2015 and he has stuck with them despite testing Ping Blueprint’s for a while. In terms of his wedges, he uses the Titleist Vokey SM9 model with 52, 56 and 60 degrees of loft.
For his putter, he recently signed a contract with Bettinardi so he now plays with a DASS BB1 Flow Tour Dept prototype. For his ball he’s been using a Titleist Pro V1x ball for a few years now, the most tournament-winning ball on the PGA Tour.
