Nelly Korda signs with Nike and TaylorMade

Nelly Korda, the world No. 2-ranked female golfer, has signed an apparel deal with Nike and an equipment deal with TaylorMade Golf.

Korda, an eight-time winner on the LPGA Tour, including one major championship, and an Olympic gold medallist, revealed via her social media platforms that she has signed with Nike, with the 24-year-old set to wear their apparel for the foreseeable future.

In the post, the American is seen wearing a Nike midlayer with the caption “JUST DID IT! Super excited to join the Swoosh fam! @nike @nikewomen @nikegolf.” Korda joins Tom Kim as another young superstar who signed an apparel deal with Nike this year.

Korda is one of the biggest stars in golf. Last month Max Homa and Kevin Kisner called her the Tiger Woods of the LPGA. She now joins the likes of Woods, Rory McIlroy, Tony Finau, Brooks Koepka and Jason Day in wearing the iconic brand’s apparel and shoes.

Korda has been seen in Air Jordan Golf shoes throughout her career, wearing the famous Nike shoe range at many tournaments.

In January 2021, she signed with Swedish apparel brand J.Lindeberg which then launched a golf clothing collection in collaboration with her. But she will now be wearing full Nike apparel from now on.

Equipment deal with TaylorMade

Shortly after her announcement that she had joined Nike, golf equipment manufacturer TaylorMade posted that Korda had joined its roster of players.

Beginning at the LPGA Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions at Lake Nona in Florida, Korda will play with a bag full of TaylorMade equipment and TP5 golf balls. She will also wear TaylorMade headwear and carry a TaylorMade staff bag.

Korda had recently become an equipment free agent after her bio was removed from Titleist’s website. She had been one of the highest-profile brand ambassadors on Titleist’s LPGA staff. She now joins Woods, McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler as TaylorMade staffers.

In testing TaylorMade clubs, it’s been reported that Korda found she preferred the look and feel of the draw-bias head on the Stealth 2 HD driver, with the club matching her preferred shot shape. She also found the P-770 long irons gave her the height she wanted, while the P-7MC’s shorter irons gave her the distance control she desired.

Korda said: “In testing with the TaylorMade Tour Team, it was clear that not only was I working with high-performing equipment, but also a team that shared my passion for working as hard as possible to be in the best position to win. I’m thrilled to be a part of Team TaylorMade.”
