The capital of the Czech Republic is regularly voted among the best stag and hen do destinations in the world. It’s got some of the best beer in Europe, and also has some of the cheapest. During your trip you can play at Albatross Golf Resort, handily less than half an hour from the city centre and the airport. Home to the D+D Real Czech Masters on the DP World Tour, we rate this pretty course built next to a nature reserve the best in the Czech Republic.
Another option, the only 18-hole course in the city itself, is Prague City Golf Club. It’s a links-style course inspired by classic British designs. The course is suitable for golf enthusiasts of all levels and is kept in fantastic condition.
Sun, sea, great nightlife and tasty food make the Catalonian capital a great option for a stag or hen do. It’s great for golfers too. Hotel Barcelona Golf Resort & Spa is a four-star hotel only half an hour’s drive from the city centre and airport. Club de Golf Barcelona is onsite, 27 holes created by Jose Maria Olazabal in 1990, which offers high quality golf with stunning views of the Montserrat mountains.
Guests at the resort have exclusive access to private tours of the wineries near the hotel. On offer are several tours where wine or cava enthusiasts can spend the day tasting the local produce.
With buzzing nightlife and a thriving cultural and comedy scene, it’s little surprise that so many people make this historic city their base for a stag or hen trip to Scotland, golf’s spiritual home. Prestonfield Golf Club is just 1.5 miles from Edinburgh city centre, yet is a peaceful, beautiful parkland layout set below the stunning backdrop of Arthur’s Seat on a former deer estate.
Another option just minutes away is Murrayfield Golf Club. With legendary links courses such as North Berwick and Muirfield less than an hour away, as is St. Andrews to the north, Murrayfield is one of the world’s best located golf courses. The course itself is a mixture of park and heathland with spectacular views over Edinburgh.
Portugal’s capital has in recent years emerged from the shadow of The Algarve, both for golfers and those looking for a party weekend away. Less than 20 minutes from the city centre, in a tranquil world of its own close to beautiful beaches, The Oitavos is a luxurious five-star haven with a world-class golf course.
Several quality restaurants, a spa, gym, multiple swimming pools, and an Equestrian Centre compliment Oitavos Dunes, the superb Arthur Hills-designed links golf course set against a scenic backdrop of the Atlantic and Sintra mountains.
