What’s In Sepp Straka’s Winning Golf Bag?
Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre won the Italian Open after he edged out US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick on the first play-off hole in Rome. Let’s take a look in his golf bag.
The 26-year-old posted a final round 14 under before Fitzpatrick birdied the 18th to force a play-off hole which the Englishman parred while MacIntyre birdied. Rory McIlroy finished two behind on 12 under after finding water on 16.
MacIntyre’s win at Marco Simone Club in Rome was his second DP World Tour victory and was well timed with the course hosting the Ryder Cup in 2023. His victory earns him crucial Ryder Cup points as he hopes to qualify for Luke Donald’s Team Europe.
MacIntyre is a TaylorMade Golf staff player and carries the brand’s clubs and ball. For the Italian Open he used the Stealth Plus model for his driver and averaged 302 yards off the tee.
He also used a TaylorMade Stealth Plus for his 3-wood, but for this event swapped out his Stealth Plus 5-wood for a Stealth hybrid. In the past he has also used a TaylorMade SIM UDI driving iron.
He then played a full set of TaylorMade P7MC irons from 4 iron to pitching wedge. These muscle cavity irons have been designed for pure feel. Their classic shaping and minimal offset delivers control and precision, and perimeter weighting gives them a touch of forgiveness.
Then he used the new TaylorMade Milled Grind Hi-Toe 2 wedges before rounding off his bag with the Odyssey Versa 7 putter and the TaylorMade TP5x golf ball. This ball offers a firmer feel and launches higher with more speed when compared to the TP5.
