Let’s have a look at the golf clubs that Jon Rahm used on his way to victory at the BMW Championship. The talented Spaniard holed a huge eagle putt on the first play-off hole to take the title at Olympia Fields.
Jon has been a long-time TaylorMade user. “What I love about TaylorMade is the family sense of everything,” he said. “How much the players are involved in everything, and how much of our feedback is included in future clubs.”

TaylorMade SIM 10.5 @ 10 degrees
Shaft: Aldila Tour Green 70 TX
Jon has a full bag of TaylorMade equipment. He upgraded all his woods to the new TaylorMade SIM range for 2020 and carries a SIM 3-wood and 5-wood alongside his driver. Jon’s driver is the TaylorMade SIM (10.5 @ 10 degrees), Aldila Tour Green 70 TX shaft. This is the shaft he has used since his college days.
The SIM driver has a new asymmetric sole design and powerful new Inertia Generator which combine to increase aerodynamics and speed at the most critical stage of the swing. At the BMW Championship, Rahm ranked 6th longest off the tee and was 13th in driving accuracy. Good numbers.

3 wood: TaylorMade SIM (15 @ 14.5 degrees)
Shaft: Aldila Tour Green 75TX
5-wood: TaylorMade SIM (19 @ 17.5 degrees)
Shaft: Graphite Design Tour AD DI (Black) 8X
The iconic V Steel™Sole Design has been reinvented in the all-new SIM Fairway Woods, for higher launch, more distance and effortless power.

TaylorMade P750 (4-PW)
Shafts: Project X Rifle 6.5 in PW
Jon has a full set of TaylorMade P750 irons from 4-iron down to pitching wedge. He has used these irons for several years and recently weakened the lofts on them following the Covid-19 break because he was hitting them further and wanted to gain better control of trajectory and angle of descent. At the BMW, he ranked 2nd in Greens In Regulation.
TaylorMade Milled Grind 2 (56, 60 degrees) & MG2 Hi-Toe (52 degrees) Shafts: Project X Rifle 6.5
Jon carries three wedges, all in the TaylorMade Milled Grind 2 model, two standard wedges and one Hi-Toe wedge. He did have three Hi-Toe wedges in the bag but at the moment he has cut that back to one which has 52 degrees of loft. The loft of his other two wedges may vary depending on conditions, but he usually carries one at 60° loft.

TaylorMade Spider X (Chalk)
Jon rounds out his bag with the TaylorMade Spider X in chalk colour. He had been using the TaylorMade Spider Tour Red putter for a long period. This putter is 37 inches long and this is key because his back used to hurt with a shorter putter so went for a longer one. He used this to sink his dramatic 66-feet putt on the first play-off hole at the BMW.
Jon’s ball, the TaylorMade TP5, has a number 10 on it. This is because his birthday is the 10th November and he says the best player on a football pitch is the number 10.
