Golf Trip to Agadir: Swinging Under the Moroccan Sun

Tiger Woods made one major change to his set-up for the PGA Championship. Let’s take a look at the clubs the 15-times major winner is now carrying in his golf bag.
Tiger, who closed with a final round 67 to finish T-37 at TPC Harding Park, became a TaylorMade staffer in 2017 after Nike stopped making golf equipment.

TaylorMade SIM (9 degrees)
Shaft: Mitsubishi Diamana D+ White 60 TX
Tiger has the new TaylorMade SIM driver in his bag. Explaining what he wanted from it, he said: “I want to be able to draw it and then hit my little slap cut up there kind of shortening the fairway. Trying to find both, meanwhile giving me more distance with both shots, would be ideal.”
One of the major features of the SIM is the Speed Injected Twist Face. This revolutionary face curvature reduces sidespin and delivers straighter shots on off-centre strikes.
Tiger added: “Anytime you have a product that helps you manage your misses, you have a superior product. That’s what Twist Face allows us to do.”
3-Wood: TaylorMade M5 (15 degrees)
Shaft: Mitsubishi Diamana D+ White 70 TX
5-Wood: TaylorMade M3 (19 degrees)
Shaft: Mitsubishi Diamana D+ White 80 TX
Despite recently testing a TaylorMade SIM Max 3-wood, he has gone for two slightly older models for his three and five-woods: his trusty M5 3-wood and M3 5-wood.

TaylorMade P7TW (3-PW)
Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100
After joining TaylorMade in 2017, Tiger worked hand-in-hand with the engineering team to develop the P7TW irons. He also occasionally carries a 2-iron, the P790 UDI, also from TaylorMade.

TaylorMade MG 2 (56, 60 degrees)
Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400
Tiger now uses the new Milled Grind 2 models which have 56 and 60 degrees of loft. These wedges combine precision-milling with Raw Face Technology designed for increased spin, precision and feel.

Scotty Cameron Newport 2 GSS
Grip: Ping PP58 Blackout
The major change to his bag Tiger made for the PGA Championship was his putter. He usually uses his classic Scotty Cameron Newport GSS, which he won all but one of his 15 Majors with, but he changed to a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Timeless Prototype.
It is still a Newport blade but is a little longer than his older putter, which eases some strain on his back which means he can also practice for longer. The putter has weight adjustability on the sole and it features a Ping PP58 grip, the same putter grip he used as a junior golfer.
Tiger is continuing to use the Bridgestone Tour B XS golf ball, after signing with the company in December 2016.
