Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL Golf League 2025 schedule
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, Italy, will host the biennial event in 2023, then Bethpage Black in New York is next up in 2025. The Ryder Cup bandwagon will then head to Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland, in 2027, before setting up camp at Hazeltine National in Minnesota in 2029.
The 2031 and 2035 Ryder Cup venues are still being decided, but the 2033 Ryder Cup has been confirmed for The Olympic Club in California.
After beating bids from Germany, Austria and Spain in 2015, this will be the first time the event has been hosted in Italy. Marco Simone Golf & Country Club was re-designed by Jim Fazio and re-launched in 1989. It proved a success and was the venue for the 2004 Italian Open. Just 10 minutes from the centre of Rome, it’s centred around a stunning 11th-century castle the club is named after. It’s a challenging and engaging layout with tree-lined narrow fairways, lakes, and several elevation changes, providing glorious views of the Eternal City.
Two years later, the Ryder Cup will visit the Black Course at Bethpage, New York. Bethpage hosted the US Open in 2002 and 2009, The Barclays in 2012 and 2016 and most recently the 2019 USPGA Championship. This public golf facility is home to five different courses and the Black Course is famous for its sign on the first tee warning golfers that only highly skilled players should tee it up.
We then head to Adare Manor in the south-west of Ireland. Set in 840 acres of pristine parkland, it has been called the most beautiful parkland course outside of Augusta National. All 18 holes have been re-designed by celebrated golf architect Tom Fazio, the man behind the improvements made to the home of the Masters itself. The layout has a spacious front nine affording a good sense of the local natural beauty. The back nine is less open, working its way through forested land before arriving back at the manor.
This club in Minnesota was venue for the 2016 Ryder Cup when the US won 17-11, and it has hosted nine Majors across the men’s, women’s and amateur game including the 2009 USPGA. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, it was then re-designed by his son Rees Jones in advance of the 1991 US Open. Hazeltine is set on gently rolling terrain and features over 100 bunkers throughout the routing.
The Olympic Club in San Francisco has hosted five US Opens, the last of which in 2012, on its famous Lake Course. This will be the first time the Ryder Cup will be held on the west coast since 1959. Players from the US and Europe teams will have their work cut out on this demanding track, with its sloping fairways and small greens. But it also has stunning views of San Francisco and the fairways are lined with towering trees. It will also host the 2028 PGA Championship.
This Blue Course here was the scene of Rory McIlroy’s first major win at the 2011 US Open and it has hosted two other US Opens, a US Senior Open and a USPGA Championship. Extensively renovated by Andrew Green in 2020, the Blue Course will now host the 2037 Ryder Cup. Players will enjoy a classic parkland setting, face tricky doglegs in each direction, and be challenged by an incredible finishing hole, a par 4 over 500 yards.v
