La Hacienda Links Golf Resort on the Costa del Sol offers the unique opportunity of playing one of the only coastal links courses in southern Europe, as well as a superb heathland layout.
The two outstanding and recently renovated 18-hole courses, La Hacienda Links and La Hacienda Heathland, are not just superb in quality but they boast incredible views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and North Africa.
The resort, which offers five-star accommodation, is also close to some of Europe’s most iconic golf venues including Valderrama and Sotogrande, and it recently became a member of the prestigious European Tour Destination network, a distinction bestowed on only the best golf resorts in the world.
La Hacienda Links, upgraded in 2021 by acclaimed American architect Kurtis Bowman, has classic links features of wide fairways, heather and gorse, double greens, huge putting surfaces, large bunkers, and gentle slopes that descend towards the ocean. The layout runs along almost two kilometres of Mediterranean coastline, with several holes bordering the beach with views of the iconic Rock of Gibraltar and the Atlas Mountains of North Africa.
La Hacienda Heathland was designed by former Ryder Cup player Dave Thomas and winds its way through a varied terrain featuring a number of plateaus. The course enjoys exceptional views of the Mediterranean between the hills and mountains of the Sierra Nevada, with several holes in a river valley with large lakes.
The modern and elegant clubhouse at the resort has been created to offer the best in family lifestyle and gives members and visitors a beautiful space to enjoy a selection of activities and services. The resort also offers a recently renovated driving range of 72 bays, half of them covered, as well as several par-three holes ideal for beginners, along with two chipping areas, bunkers and putting greens.
La Hacienda Golf Academy offers programs for golfers of all ages and levels with a team of expert professionals using the best facilities and the latest state-of-the-art technology. There’s different training programs designed for juniors and adults, tailor-made classes for groups, and you can spend the day playing with a pro.
Fairmont La Hacienda, part of the prestigious Fairmont Hotel chain, is set to open in April 2024 offering its guests one of the most exclusive resorts in Spain. Located on the coast of San Roque, in a unique and privileged enclave close to Sotogrande, the five-star luxury hotel will have over 150 rooms as well as luxury villas and gated residences, all of them with impressive ocean views. The outstanding lifestyle facilities will include five restaurants and bars, a pool bar and beach restaurant, as well as swimming pools and a large and luxurious spa and fitness space.
There are other superb hotels nearby which offer access to La Hacienda’s golf courses. Only 5km away is the five-star SO/ Sotogrande, located in Sotogrande Alto, with luxurious accommodation and superb sports facilities. There’s a beautiful marina and polo club and on the doorstep are world-renowned golf courses such as Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, La Reserva Sotogrande, and Real Club Valderrama, host of the 1997 Ryder Cup.
Only 2km from La Hacienda is the four-star Aldiana Hotel with its unbeatable location on the beachfront set in the middle of a botanical garden, surrounded by world famous golf courses.
