The Els Club Vilamoura: Golfing Grandeur in the Algarve

Scottie Scheffler’s reign at the top of the golf world continued this past weekend with a commanding victory at the 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush. With a final score of 17-under-par and a four-shot cushion over runner-up Harris English, Scottie Scheffler once again proved why he’s the most dominant force in professional golf today. His consistency, composure, and clinical ball striking were on full display as he picked apart one of the most challenging links courses on the major circuit.

While much of the spotlight naturally falls on Scheffler’s poise under pressure, his equipment also played a crucial role in securing the Claret Jug. Sticking with the familiar, his bag featured a TaylorMade Qi10 driver and fairway wood, Srixon utility iron, P7TW irons, and a selection of Titleist Vokey wedges that gave him precision around the greens. And of course, his recent putting turnaround — thanks to the Spider Tour X and a claw grip — was once again a difference-maker.

This latest major title marks the fourth of Scheffler’s career and his second in 2025 alone, following a PGA Championship triumph earlier this season. Since turning pro in 2018, the Dallas native has quickly risen to elite status, amassing over a dozen PGA Tour wins and spending more than 100 weeks atop the Official World Golf Ranking. With his current form, there’s little doubt that Scheffler is carving out a legacy that will stand among the greats.
Let’s take a closer look at the tools Scottie Scheffler trusted to claim victory at Royal Portrush.
