Unveiling China’s Elite: The Most Exclusive Golf Clubs

Situated in Inverness, Nova Scotia on the East coast of Canada, lie the tandem 18-hole layouts of Cabot Links. Originally conceived by Ben Cowan-Dewar with funding assistance from Mike Keiser (the creator of Bandon Dunes in Oregon USA) the Links was the first of the twin tracks to open in 2011 followed by the Cliffs which opened to the public in 2016.
Created by Canadian Architect Rod Whitman, the Links Course is pure, unapologetic, old school Scottish golf. Aesthetically sculpted to fit the natural landscape, the native sand dunes and seemingly “there forever” bunkers fit organically into the landscape that is void of a level stance that isn’t on a tee box. The layout invites your imagination as your fifteenth club and encourages you to work your ball within the elements, teaching patience and acceptance as you proceed through this links route. Played as a walkers only course, caddies are available for hire to help you navigate the eighteen championship holes par 70 that play just under 5000 yards from the ladies’ tees and stretch to 6854 yards from the pro blocks.
It is the Cliffs course, with its increased rounds and International exposure that has the world of golf sitting up and taking notice. The incredible Ben Crenshaw – Bill Coore design will take your breath away at every turn. Over rolling sand dunes and from cliff to cliff, the designers aspired to appeal to all five senses with their creation. The most beautiful game on earth, portrayed on a canvas only Mother Nature can provide, this is Cabot Cliffs.
As a true example of links style golf with five holes running along the Atlantic coastline, the Links is arguably the more difficult test, but loses the beauty contest to the Cliffs, the shiny younger sister with her breathtaking views and vistas. If you’ve never played true links style golf before, the Cabot Links pair will be an introduction you will never forget. If you have played the seaside brand of golf previously, you will be reminded that this style is both beautiful in its nature and mystifying in its challenge.
