Golfing in Egypt’s Red Sea Region
Let’s take a look in the golf bag of Rickie Fowler to see what equipment he’s using. The charismatic American has recorded two top 10s last season and will be looking to regain the form we know he is capable of.
Fowler is a Cobra-Puma ambassador and in 2015 agreed a long-term contract extension that will see him continue to use Cobra clubs and wear Puma Golf apparel, footwear and accessories.
Cobra King F9 Speedback (10.5 @ 9 degrees, 14g weight front/2g weight rear)
Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X
Fowler currently uses the King F9 Speedback, the first Cobra driver to successfully combine an aerodynamic club shape, a low centre of gravity, and a precision CNC milled face.
The driver allows you to customize your centre of gravity position using moveable weight technology. A heavy weight (14g) and lightweight (2g) can be moved to the front or back position to fine-tune trajectory, launch and spin.
Cobra King F8+ (14 @13.5 degrees)
Shaft: Aldila Synergy 70 TX
Fowler uses F8+ fairway woods and always carries a 3-wood. Sometimes he puts the 5-wood version in the bag depending on course and conditions.
Cobra King F9 Speedback (4, 5), Cobra AMP Cell Pro ’13 (5-PW)
Shafts: Graphite Design Tour AD DI Prototype (4), True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 (5 F9, 5-PW)
The 31-year-old uses a couple of F9 Speedback Utility irons and compliments them with Cobra AMP Cell Pro ’13 irons from 5-iron to pitching wedge.
Fowler’s long irons are equipped with graphite design Tour AD shafts. The idea behind the graphite shafts for these irons is to help increase clubhead speed and squeeze even more distance out of his long irons.
Cobra King Prototype (52, 56, 60)
Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400
He carries three Cobra King prototype wedges, at 52, 56 and 60 degrees of loft. They are all in the Cobra King V-grind model. This particular grind provides a softened leading edge with heel and toe relief making it a perfect fit for medium to firm conditions.
Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Prototype
Shaft: LA Golf Shafts Prototype
Grip: Scotty Cameron Pistolini
His putter is a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Prototype. This club was originally designed for Tiger Woods, according to reports.
TaylorMade TP5 Pix #15
After playing the Titleist Pro V1 for the early stages of his career, Fowler made the switch to the TaylorMade TP5x golf ball in 2019 and worked with TaylorMade on its design.
