Royal Melbourne Golf Club — Australia’s Golfing Masterpiece
Let’s find out what equipment Martin Kaymer is currently using. The German former world number one has had a stellar career with 23 worldwide wins including the 2010 PGA Championship and the 2014 US Open.
The 35-year-old has been without a win since his US Open victory at Pinehurst, but in recent months has started to find some form.
TaylorMade SIM (9 degrees)
Shaft: Accra TZ 65 M5
Kaymer now has the TaylorMade SIM driver in the bag after using the M5 last year. Collin Morikawa, Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm and Tiger Woods are among the other top professionals using the SIM.
TaylorMade M6 Rocket (14 degrees)
Shaft: Accra TZ 75 M5
TaylorMade SLDR HB (18 degrees)
Shaft: Graphite Design Tour AD DI-85x
He then has a TaylorMade M6 Rocket fairway wood and an SLDR hybrid which have 14 and 18 degrees of loft respectively.
TaylorMade P790 UDI (2)
Shaft: UST Recoil 110 F5
He then carries a TaylorMade P790 UDI 2-iron as a utility club. Rory McIlroy also uses this club, depending on course and conditions.
The P790 UDI features minimal offset, a straighter topline, and refined shaping for a clean look at address. It also features Speedfoam™, an ultra light urethane foam injected inside the head engineered to push the design limits of face speed while simultaneously improving feel.
TaylorMade P7TW (3-9)
Shafts: 3 and 4-irons: UST Recoil 110 F5 shafts; 5-9: Dynamic Gold AMT X100
Kaymer then goes for a set of TaylorMade P7TW’s from 3-9 iron, but plays with two different shafts. Tiger Woods also uses the TaylorMade P7TWs.
TaylorMade Milled Grind Raw (48 degrees), TaylorMade MG Hi-Toe (54 and 58 degrees)
Shafts: Dynamic Gold S400 Black
Instead of using pitching wedge, Kaymer has a 48 degree TaylorMade Milled Grind Raw wedge and then has two TaylorMade Milled Grind Hi-Toe wedges with 54 and 58 degrees of loft.
Kaymer famously holed the final putt at the ‘Miracle at Medinah’ 2012 Ryder Cup and right now is using a TaylorMade Truss TM1 putter.
TaylorMade TP5x
Kaymer is using a TaylorMade TP5x with the number ’59’ on it. Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson also use this ball. Kaymer’s lowest round in professional golf is 59, which came at the Habsburg Classic in 2006.
