The World Amateur Tour (WAT) was established in 2015 and gives amateur players the opportunity to live their golfing life like a professional player. Other partners include Titleist, Renault, La Reserva Club, Golf+ and Park Hyatt.
Members of the tour get to compete in a series of 6 world-class tournaments across the globe on courses that have only featured in the world’s most elite events.
The tour is open to enthusiastic amateurs worldwide who get unlimited access to professional-level coaching and experiences, as well as the opportunity to stay in luxurious hotels.
The tour is open to men and women golfers across the world who have a handicap between 0 and 20. Members include CEOs, bankers, surgeons, lawyers, and many other enthusiastic players from all walks of life.
There’s 6 global tournaments. Each is 36 holes and stableford format and each is allotted tour ranking points and club ranking points.
The tournaments are played over 2 days, but each event is a 4-day experience. Players are transferred from the airport by courtesy car and stay 4 nights at a luxurious hotel. There’s a practice round, training with the Tour’s coaches, and cocktails and welcome dinner. At the end of each tournament there’s a gala dinner and prize giving.
