Where to Travel for Golf This Summer
Viktor Hovland clinched his fourth PGA Tour title at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio after winning a play-off against Denny McCarthy. Here’s the clubs he used.
The 25-year-old carded a two-under 70 to finish on seven under par, one shot ahead of clubhouse leader Scottie Scheffler at Jack Nicklaus‘ Muirfield Village in Dublin.
McCarthy then missed a par putt on the 72nd hole to win his first PGA Tour title. He also carded a 70 and went into a play-off with the Norwegian. Hovland saved par on the first extra hole with a seven feet putt, while the American’s poor drive led to a bogey.
Hovland is a Ping staff player with most his bag made up of the brand’s clubs. He signed a contract with the company in June 2019, but had already been playing with their equipment for three years.
In Ohio he did however use a TaylorMade Stealth Plus fairway wood and has also in the past opted for a Ping G425 hybrid, a Callaway Apex UW, a Titleist U510 driving iron, and a Ping i210 3-iron, depending on course and conditions.
TaylorMade recently upgraded its ground-breaking Stealth range from last year with the Stealth 2 drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and irons.
