WITB: Anthony Kim’s Long-Awaited Return to Glory in Adelaide

Scottie Scheffler overcame a five-shot deficit in the final round to become the first man in history to defend the Players Championship. Here’s his club-set-up.
The world number one hit an eight-under 64 in the final round to win back-to-back titles at the 50th Players after needing treatment on his neck during round two at TPC Sawgrass. Scheffler won the PGA Tour’s flagship event in 2023 by five strokes.
He finished on 20 under this time around, a shot ahead of of Brian Harman, Wyndham Clark and Xander Schauffele who all missed putts at the last to force a play-off. His five-shot comeback equals the largest in the tournament’s history.

The win follows his victory last week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, ahead of which he changed to a mallet putter, the new Taylormade Spider Tour X.
The putter has an L-Neck hosel and True Path alignment aid with a full-line sight line on top. He switched to the club for increased moment of inertia, a measure of a club’s stability and forgiveness. The putter has 3 degrees of loft and a 72-degree lie angle. The insert is an 80/20 TaylorMade Pure Roll.
Also used by Rory McIlroy, the Spider X was originally designed to convert golfers from blade putters to mallets, using a compact shape and modern look while delivering blade-like feel with the benefits of alignment and forgiveness.
Scheffler ranked fifth for putting at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and was around halfway down the field for putting at The Players. He needed only 25 putts on Sunday to gets the job done.
