Ireland’s Ring of Kerry: A Legendary Golf Journey
Titleist has unveiled its new range of GT drivers and fairway woods, used by Tour pros such as Justin Rose, Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel and Jin Young Ko. Let’s take a look.
The release of the GT family follows the American brand’s TSR range of drivers and fairways woods which were unveiled in 2022.
Players who already have the GT driver in the bag include Billy Horschel, Justin Rose, Tom Kim and Max Homa (all GT3), and Justin Thomas, Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris (all GT2). On the LPGA Tour, world No.5 Jin Young Ko is using a GT2.
Titleist says its three new GT drivers – GT2, GT3 and GT4 – are faster, longer, straighter and more forgiving than any of its previous drivers which have been engineered to deliver all-round performance.
The new drivers are clean looking with a glossy finish and there’s new face graphics designed to frame the ball squarely at address. Each model also has an improved aerodynamic shaping for more clubhead speed.
The drivers feature an all-new Seamless Thermoform Crown comprised of a new Proprietary Matrix Polymer, allowing more speed and stability and optimized weight distribution. There’s also a new Speed Ring and VFT face design which provides faster ball speeds on centre and off-centre strikes.
GT2 Driver – Larger head shape providing more confidence, forgiveness and distance. There’s an interchangeable weight in the rear position allowing for head weight and swing weight control for personalised performance and feel. Lofts: 8°, 9°, 10°, 11°.
GT3 Driver – Like the GT2, the GT3 is 460cc, but it’s more aerodynamic, resulting in faster clubhead speeds. There’s an adjustable CG Track which will help players find more speed and greater consistency in ball flight. Lofts: 8°, 9°, 10°, 11°.
GT4 Driver – There’s dual-spin control settings so golfers can choose between high or moderate spin reduction. This is done by flipping an 11 gram and 3 gram weight between two positions. The GT4 also has a smaller profile at 430cc. Lofts: 8°, 9°, 10°.
The Titleist GT fairway woods offer fast speeds, higher flight, optimal spin and longer carry in two models, the GT2 and GT3. Both feature the all-new Seamless Thermoform Crown.
The ultra-light crown allows for optimised weight distribution, while a new L-Cup Face improves performance on low impact shots. Refined shaping gives golfers two models to choose from.
GT2 Fairway – The GT2 delivers high flight, low spin and lots of forgiveness. It comes in five different lofts so golfers can dial in their distance gapping at the top end of the bag. It has a shallow face, perfect for those who have a more sweeping clubhead delivery. Lofts: 13.5°, 15°, 16.5°, 18°, 21°.
GT3 Fairway – The GT3 provides controlled flight, fast ball speed and maximum adjustability. Each of the three GT3 loft options feature a refined SureFit Adjustable CG Track System, so club fitters can move a sliding weight track into five different positions. It has a taller face than the GT2 for players who tend to hit down on the ball and prefer the look of a deeper face. Lofts: 15°, 16.5°, 18°.
