Lee Westwood: What’s In The Bag?

Let’s peek inside the golf bag of Race to Dubai winner Lee Westwood. The Englishman has been a Ping staffer his entire career and currently has a bag full of the company’s clubs.

Westwood started the year by winning the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Abu Dhabi Golf Club in January, and ended it by claiming his third Race to Dubai title after finishing runner-up at the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai in December.

Driver

After switching between the Ping G410 driver and the newer G425 at the start of the season, the 47-year-old seems to have now settled on the G425.

Irons

His irons are the Ping i210 model which he has from 4-iron through to PW. They have a compact blade length, thin top line, modest offset, and unlike a lot of muscleback blades which are used by some of the world’s top professional players, the i210 irons are a worthy choice for good club golfers looking for a solid, reliable iron.

Wedges

Shaft: Ping JZ Stiff w/Cushin (hard stepped)

Westwood also uses two i210 utility wedges at 50 and 54 degrees of loft, but uses a 60 degree Ping Glide Forged lob wedge as his only pure wedge.

Putter

His putter is the new Ping Sigma 2 Fetch, which has the added feature of getting the ball out of the hole for you. A bonus for golfers getting on in years!
