The New Wave of Short Courses

Combine your passions for golf and wine at these superb Spanish golf resorts. Surrounded by vineyards, they offer world-class wine tours and tasting experiences.
Peralada Resort in Catalonia is known for its exceptional wine tourism experiences and offers a 5-star hotel, an 18-hole golf course, and a Michelin-starred restaurant. The golf course is one of Spain’s most beautiful parkland layouts with stunning views of the Pyrenees and Mediterranean.

The resort sits in the heart of Emporda, one of Catalonia’s major wine regions, and is part of the renowned Peralada wine-producing estate offering premium wines and world-class wine tourism. Differently priced packages for guests include various combinations of guided visits to the New Peralada Winery and its Celler 1923 wine bar, Peralada Castle Museum, and exclusive wine tastings.
Hotel Barcelona Golf Resort & Spa is located in San Esteve Sesrovires in the wine region of Pendes, known for being the main producer of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The 4-star Double Tree by Hilton Barcelona Golf Hotel is also only a half an hour’s drive from Barcelona city centre and the airport.
Club de Golf Barcelona is onsite, created by Jose Maria Olazabal in 1990, which offers high quality golf with stunning views of the Montserrat mountains and national park. There’s also a 9-hole practice course. Guests at the resort have exclusive access to private tours of the wineries near the hotel. On offer are several tours where wine or cava enthusiasts can spend the day tasting the local produce.

The 4-star Silken Villa de Laguardia is perfectly located for exploring and enjoying Rioja wines, set among vineyards in the mediaeval town of Laguardia. It’s around 60km south of Bilbao and around the same distance from San Sebastian, one of Spain’s gastronomic capitals. The hotel also has a spectacular spa with treatments that use wine and olive oil, fully harnessing the properties of their ingredients.
The hotel offers guests packages which include a green fee at Izki Golf Course, around 15km away, designed by Severiano Ballesteros. Golf Club Logrono is a stone’s throw from Seve’s course, one of the best public courses in northern Spain which boasts a 675-yard hole reputed to be the country’s longest.

The resort has its own wine cellar and organises many activities related to wines, such as beginners’ wine tasting courses and visits to the wine museum and other famous wine cellars and wineries of the region.
Camiral Golf & Wellness, previously known as PGA Catalunya Golf & Wellness, is less than an hour from Barcelona and close to the beaches of the Costa Brava. It’s one of the world’s leading golf and lifestyle resorts, home to the 5-star Camiral Hotel and the 4-star Lavida Hotel, along with two championship golf courses.
The Stadium Course and the Tour Course are both par-72 woodland layouts designed by Angel Gallardo. The Stadium Course hosted the Spanish Open on the European Tour three times between 2000-14, while the Tour Course co-hosted the European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage between 2008-16.

Camiral Golf & Wellness offers wine tasting with experts, and the resort is now producing its own red, white and rose wines from its very own vineyard. The region directly around the resort is also home to the Emporda Wine Route. One of the richest wine routes in Spain, it dates back to Roman times. Visit the wineries of the Emporda, enjoy some wine tasting and discover the fascinating world of local winemaking and wine culture.
Further south, this part of Catalonia boasts an array of fantastic vineyards to visit including Priorat, Montsant and Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, the epicentre of Cava production.
