Golf in Gran Canaria
Set in a turquoise sea, the island of Mauritius is an oasis of peace and tranquility waiting to welcome you; its powdery white sands and warm waters assure a paradisiacal getaway. Mauritius enjoys a relatively mild climate. Although temperatures are rather moderate throughout the year with occasional rainfall, the most pleasant times to visit the island are between the months of April and June and between September and December.
Over the years Mauritius has developed into one of the finest golf destinations in the world, now offering 9 magnificent championship layouts from designers such as Ernie Els, Bernhard Langer, Peter Matkovich and Peter Alliss.
If you are looking for a new destination for your next golf break, then look no further than the tropical island of Mauritius.
Bernhard Langer designed the 18-hole, par 72 championship course at Île aux Cerfs Golf Club to challenge advanced players, whilst keeping it exciting and playable for recreational golfers.
The par 72, championship golf course offers superb sea views of the surrounding Indian Ocean from different vantage points on holes throughout the island. Langer has created a true masterpiece snaking through this coral island refuge. Undulating greens requiring accurate approach shots and expansive waste bunkers that allow the natural flora and fauna to be featured prominently are all part of the outstanding design.
A small, but beautifully appointed clubhouse offers a well-stocked pro shop, locker room and restaurant.
Designed by Ernie Els, Four Seasons Golf Club Mauritius at Anahita is a 7,500-yard, 18-hole, par-72 championship course with large fairways and five sets of tees. Six stunning oceanfront holes culminate in a final shot that is among the most spectacular in the world. The course is designed to preserve the coastline’s natural beauty, in particular the rich native flora and fauna.
When staying at the Anahita Golf & Spa Resort, golf is complimentary on the Four Seasons Golf Club Mauritius at Anahita and on Île aux Cerfs Golf Club. You can play as often as you wish at no additional cost. Finally, to complete your golfing experience, the contemporary Mauritian-styled golf clubhouse has a fully stocked pro shop, as well as Il Forno restaurant, presenting creative cuisine with the signature Four Seasons attention to detail.
Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort and Spa is one of the most prestigious resorts in Mauritius. The outstanding Paradis Golf Course emphasizes the site’s unique scenery and tropical feel. Fringed by the crystal-clear lagoon of Black River on one side and backed by the legendary Morne Brabant Mountain on the other, it offers a peerless combination of stunning scenery and challenging play. The back nine are the most spectacular, as they spread along the coastline.
The course is a pleasure to play and offers a challenge to all. The elegant clubhouse has its own bar, where players can enjoy cool refreshments between rounds of golf.
Constance Belle Mare Plage is situated on one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. It offers an extensive array of amenities and types of accommodation. It is an ideal location for golfers, with its two 18-hole championship golf courses, the Legend and the Links.
The Legend Golf Course is a parkland type of course with beautiful mature trees and lush vegetation between the different fairways. It also has water hazards on almost every hole, making this golf course a very technical but fair challenge for the players.
The Links Course, designed by Peter Alliss and Rodney Wright is an equally challenging par 71 layout that opened for play in 2002. With much less water hazards than on the Legend Course, the Links will still test every golfers’ skills.
Designed by Peter Matkovich, Heritage Golf Club features an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole pitch & putt course. Whatever your handicap, the course will seduce you with its spaciousness, its technical variety and impeccable service.
Its strongest features are its exceptional setting amongst the green hills and turquoise lagoon, and its challenging design that combine for a truly memorable golfing experience!
Open for play since 2006, Tamarina Golf Club is not only set in a stunning environment, but also offers a fun and challenging test of all golfing skills. The uniqueness of this expansive 18-hole, par 72 course lies in the contrast between the wild intensity of its rugged surroundings and the design finesse of its greens and fairways.
