After the 18th Hole: Local Delicacies You Must Try in Spain

During this week’s interview we had a nice chat with Olivier Karch, a passionate golfer from France who is a member at Golf Club des Bouleaux in Alsace. Olivier told us about his passion for the game of golf and why he loves to use the All Square app.
1. ABOUT GOLF
To start, can you tell us how you first got into golf?
I started playing golf when I was on holiday in Kenya after a safari. Weird but true!
What would make golf more fun?
I think golf should definitely be played at a faster pace. Nowadays most people do not have time to spend 4-5 hours on the golf course as they have many other priorities.
Your funniest golf experience?
I had my funniest golf experience when my wife made a hole-in-one and nobody in the flight saw the ball going in the hole. We arrived on the green and started to look for her ball everywhere, except in the hole. I believe it must have been a friendly squirrel that pushed the ball into the hole…
What are your thoughts on golf being back at the Olympics?
Golf being an Olympic sport is great for the game! Golf will certainly become more popular and the overall number of golfers will increase worldwide. We might event hear that the next Tuger Woods started to play golf thanks to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Your top 3 golf courses?
This is always one of the hardest questions. As I have to pick 3, I will go with Morfontaine in Paris, Finca Cortesin in Andalucìa and Île aux Cerfs in Mauritius. However, there are many golf courses on my bucket list.
What is the golf pairing of your dreams?
A foursome match: Phil Mickelson & me vs. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Poor Phil.
2. ABOUT ALL SQUARE
How did you first discover All Square?
Lionel Weber, a professional golfer from France who plays on the Asian Tour, introduced me to the All Square platform a few years ago.
Complete the sentence: What I like the most about All Square is …
To be part of a community, where we all share the same passion.
Your favorite feature on All Square?
Seeing posts and photos of all my friends, who are not really that serious! 🙂
3. RAPID FIRE QUESTIONS
Hitting long drives or sinking long putts?
I’d love both but unfortunately my reality is different as I always fight to survive until the 18th hole.
Having the round of your life or a hole-in-one?
Round of my life for sure (hole-in-one will come sooner or later, thanks to the nice squirrel…).
The Masters or The Open?
The Masters.
The coolest player on Tour?
Phil Mickelson. He’s the friendliest player on Tour and always takes a lot of time to sign autographs for his fans.
