Tee Off in Style: Park Hyatt Marrakech

Chris Gotterup continued his breakout 2026 campaign by capturing the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run, securing his third PGA Tour victory of the season in dramatic fashion. The American fired a brilliant final-round 62, then watched from the clubhouse as overnight contenders failed to catch him, with Ben Kohles’ late mistakes sealing Gotterup’s one-shot victory. The win further established the powerful ball-striker as one of the PGA Tour’s standout performers in 2026 and added another impressive chapter to what has quickly become the best season of his career.

A major factor behind the victory was a bag built for both distance and precision. Gotterup relied on a Ping G440 LST driver to lead the field in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee, while a TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver and TaylorMade Qi4D 7-wood gave him added versatility from the tee and fairway. His Bridgestone Tour B 220 MB irons delivered the control needed to attack pins, and his TaylorMade Milled Grind 5 wedges paired with a TaylorMade Spider Tour X putter helped him convert key scoring opportunities throughout the week. He also trusted a Bridgestone Tour B X golf ball during his winning performance.

Still only in the early stages of his PGA Tour career, Gotterup has rapidly developed into one of the game’s rising stars. After starring at the collegiate level with both Rutgers and the University of Oklahoma, he earned his PGA Tour card and quickly built a reputation as one of the longest hitters in professional golf. His breakthrough victory came in 2024, but the 2026 season has elevated him to another level, with multiple PGA Tour titles showcasing the consistency and confidence that now accompany his elite power game. The John Deere Classic victory is further evidence that Gotterup is becoming a regular contender whenever he tees it up.
