Nacho Elvira’s Dubai Breakthrough: WITB and a Moment to Remember

Set amid Bavaria’s enchanting forests and fairways, Margarethenhof enjoys an unparalleled position at the edge of the Alpine foothills. Despite boasting one of the most scenic courses in Germany, a trip to this picturesque escape is about much more than just fantastic golf.
Health and wellbeing form the beating heart of the tranquil resort, which offers an 18-hole golf course, elegant spa facilities, and creative cuisine.
Despite being just 50 kilometers south of Munich, the resort feels a world away from the bustle of the city. This makes it a great choice for city-dwellers looking for a weekend escape. First-time visitors to the Bavarian Alps, hoping to combine a relaxing vacation with a trip to one of Germany’s most vivacious cities, are also guaranteed to be enchanted by the natural beauty and accessibility of the location.

Located high above the Tegernsee, one of Germany’s most beautiful golf courses awaits.
Set against the spectacular backdrop of Bavaria’s Alpine foothills, the course carves its way through densely forested areas. From the moment they step on the first tee, golfers will be treated to a natural showcase.
The highlight is one of the highest tee-offs in Germany – at an elevation of 950 meters. From this point, the views across the course, and the lakes and mountains beyond are truly sensational.
The high calibre of the golf course matches the beauty of the surroundings. A significant renovation in 2012, has only improved the layout. The course also has a reputation for being in fantastic condition.

An oasis of tranquillity greets visitors at the chalet-like golf hotel, which enjoys a fairytale setting just seconds from the golf’s immaculate fairways.
The traditionally styled Bavarian lodge features 35 spaciously designed suites. These range from 80 m² Maisonette Suites Superior spread over two levels, to 47 m² junior superior suites which provide a spacious living/sleeping area in an elegant country house style.
The junior suites are in an especially quiet setting with wonderful views of the mighty, hundred-year-old lime tree. Unsurprisingly given the hotel’s location, the views from the rooms are exceptional.
By adding the recently constructed Lanserhof Tegernsee to this unique location, the resort now offers an ultra-modern health facility.
The small but fine wellness area is fitted with a Finnish sauna, whirlpool, rest & quiet room, fitness centre, and beauty department. Individually tailored relaxing massages and beneficial beauty treatments are also available.
Situated in the lime tree garden, the 17-meter outdoor pool may well be the highlight of a trip to the resort. From here swimmers and bathers can enjoy uninterrupted views across the forested landscape.

Whether you choose the selected delicacies that the breakfast buffet has to offer, the Bavarian specialties at lunch on the terrace, or the culinary creations at dinner, the restaurant “Steinberg” is sure to tickle your taste buds, whatever your requirements.
Half-board hotel guests enjoy a comprehensive breakfast buffet with local farm produce, home-made jams, freshly pressed fruit juices, and farmer’s bread. Come the evening guests can enjoy a traditional Bavarian 4-course meal. Guests can explore the region’s culinary traditions and finest cuisines across all the menus. As well as make the most of the region’s most famous export, beer.

Off the course, the sparkling new pro shop is a wonder onto itself. Completely refurbished and newly fitted in May 2014, it is a must visit for all visitors to the course. The shop houses a fantastic range of equipment and fashion items for both men and women. Professional instruction is also available.
