Discovery Land Company operates private high-end golf communities in North America, Europe, the Caribbean and the UAE, attracting celebrities and connoisseurs of golf, wellness, and luxury homes.
The American real estate development company and hospitality operator, based in Arizona and founded in 1994 by Mike Meldman, offers superb golf courses and clubhouses, family-forward high-end homes and communities, custom programs of outdoor pursuits, health and wellness, world-class food, and five-star service.
Among its members and home owners are celebrity names such as Gisele Bundchen, Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, Cindy Crawford, Reese Witherspoon, and Weight Watchers CEO Mindy Grossman.
Its collection of golf communities in the U.S. includes properties in New York, Florida, Bahamas, California, Hawaii, Texas, Nevada, Montana and North Carolina. Around the world, their property portfolio extends to Scotland, Dubai, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Canada and Mexico.
Each property is designed to have a sustainable future and is immersed into the local land, culture and cuisine to create an authentic experience. The luxury bespoke homes on offer combine modern aesthetics and classic design and are family focused.
One of the highlight properties is Baker’s Bay Golf & Ocean Club, along a three-mile stretch of waterfront on the Bahamian island of Great Guana Cay. There’s 220 homes, an 18-hole Tom Fazio golf course, pickleball and tennis courts, water sports centre, spa, village with a market, grocery store and restaurants, and on-site medical staff.
The company commissions the best golf course architects in the world, including Robert Trent Jones Jr. and Tom Fazio, to design spectacular and scenic courses, with their trademark clubhouses and comfort stations setting incredibly high standards in golf course amenities.
The comfort stations are relaxing havens to take a mid-round break to enjoy a drink, snack or even something more substantial from an on-course gourmet chef.

The Outdoor Pursuits program is also a key feature of each location and offers members the chance to enjoy an array of activities which have been tailored specific to the destination.
At Baker’s Bay Golf & Ocean Club, this means snorkelling, fishing, boating, and kitesurfing; while at Silo Ridge Field Club in New York, options include clay shooting, horseback riding, archery, and hiking.
Europe is the company’s most recent expansion zone and one of its newest developments is CostaTerra Golf & Ocean Club in Portugal’s Comporta region. It’s a low-density community comprised of 300 luxurious residences across 722 acres, with an exclusive Beach Club on the 1.4km of glorious seafront.
CostaTerra’s Fazio-designed championship golf course is set along the Blue Coast, weaving into the surrounding coastal nature. The expansive clubhouse will offer panoramic views of the coast from the terraces and rooftop, while the club golf will also feature a state-of-the-art training and practice facility, and the iconic on-course comfort stations.
CostaTerra’s Outdoor Pursuits programs include surfing, kite or paddle board lessons, horseback riding and an array of water sports… fun for the whole family.
