During this week’s interview we had a nice chat with Adrien Saddier, a professional golfer from France who made it back to the European Tour after losing his card three years ago. Adrien practices at Golf Club d’Esery near Geneva. His biggest goal is to enter into the Top 100 in the world to compete against the best golfers. He enjoys using All Square to engage with his fans.
1. ABOUT GOLF
To start, can you tell us how you first got into golf?
I started playing golf with my father at the age of 4. Every weekend he drove me to the golf course and I regularly skipped school on Saturdays to play golf.
What makes golf more fun?
In competition bigger crowds have a huge impact as it is a lot of fun to play when many people are watching you. The best examples are the 16th hole at the Waste Management Phoenix Open (TPC Scottsdale) on the PGA Tour and the 16th hole in Denmark (Himmerland Golf Club) on the European Tour. The atmosphere on both holes is just incredible and this is exactly what you want to see more often to make golf more fun!
Your most memorable golf experience?
My best golf experience so far was definitely my season on the European Tour in 2014. The courses are in perfect shape and the organisation of each event is just amazing. I am working hard to get back on the big stage very soon.
Your top 3 golf courses?
My 3 favorite golf courses are Leopard Creek in South Africa, Lake Karrinyup CC in Australia and Royal Saint George’s Golf Club in England.
What is the golf flight of your dreams?
Tiger Woods, Fred Couples and Jason Day.
2. ABOUT ALL SQUARE
How did you first discover All Square?
I discovered All Square because I know the founders Patrick and Arthur from my amateur years. They showed me the platform at the beginning and I subscribed immediately. I like the fact that it is very similar to Facebook but only for golf lovers.
Complete the sentence: What I like the most about All Square is …
That you can review courses you have played. This makes it easier for golfers to choose the next course they want to play. The information you get about the reviewer are also very important and give a lot of credibility to a review.
Your favorite feature on All Square?
I like to see other peoples swing and give a comment. I also like to follow my friends’ golf activity and travel.
Why do you use All Square?
Unlike other social networks, I accept all friend requests on All Square because I know it is all about golf and there is no private information to be shared on this platform. As a professional golfer it is important for me to stay in touch with my fans and All Square is just perfect for that.
3. RAPID FIRE QUESTIONS
Hitting long drives or sinking long putts?
Sinking long putts is more important and can make the difference in your score.
Having the round of your life or a hole-in-one?
Having the round of my life. I prefer to play 18 good holes rather than only one.
Early morning or late afternoon tee off?
In tournament I like to play very early to get the best course conditions and at home I enjoy playing in the late afternoon.
The coolest player on Tour?
Thorbjorn Olesen.
4. What’s in Adrien’s bag?
