Live Update: Golf Courses Open for Play by Country during Covid-19

With the world currently in the grip of the Covid-19 pandemic, most golf clubs across the globe remain closed due to lockdown measures. But some countries are slowly lifting their restrictions. Here’s our list of all the nations and regions that are currently open for golf or will be open in the near future.

When lockdown restrictions are lifted, golf clubs and golfers will have to follow safety guidelines laid out by the sport’s governing bodies in each respective country. The guidelines are centred around social distancing and will change the way we play golf in order to stay safe.

Middle East

Abu Dhabi

Hong Kong
Current status: ✅ Golf courses have officially reopened on May 4th.

Current status: ✅ 33/44 golf courses are open for play.
Reopening: Golf courses around Jakarta are closed as the city is in lockdown. Golf courses around Bali are opened as there is no lockdown but they are operating with limited hours.

Japan
Current status: ✅ Only a handful of golf courses are closed. Many clubs have closed their restaurants, or their locker room facilities to prevent risks of infection. Golf is considered to be one of the safer outside activities, at least for now.
Reopening: The state of emergency is in place until May 6th at least.
