Live Update: Golf Courses Open for Play by Country during Covid-19

With the world currently in the grip of the Covid-19 pandemic, most golf clubs across the globe remain closed due to lockdown measures. But some countries are slowly lifting their restrictions. Here’s our list of all the nations and regions that are currently open for golf or will be open in the near future.
When lockdown restrictions are lifted, golf clubs and golfers will have to follow safety guidelines laid out by the sport’s governing bodies in each respective country. The guidelines are centred around social distancing and will change the way we play golf in order to stay safe.
Middle East
Abu Dhabi Current status: ✅ All golf courses are open to members and cardholders with member-like playing privileges at courses under the umbrella of golf management companies. Indonesia Current status: ✅ 33/44 golf courses are open for play. Reopening: Golf courses around Jakarta are closed as the city is in lockdown. Japan Current status: ✅ Only a handful of golf courses are closed. Many clubs have closed their restaurants, or their locker room facilities to prevent risks of infection. Golf is considered to be one of the safer outside activities, at least for now. Reopening: The state of emergency is in place until May 6th at least. Singapore Current status: 🚫 All golf courses closed. Reopening: Singapore will start easing some partial lockdown measures this month as new cases in the broader community have dropped. All golf courses: www.allsquaregolf.com/golf-courses/singapore
Ireland Current status: ✅ Golf courses are open for play under restrictions. Reopening: Initially play will be limited to members who live within a 5km radius of the golf club. Chile Current status: 🚫 All golf courses are closed. Reopening: There’s been no announcement from the government regarding the practice of golf. However the Chilean Golf Federation has set guidelines regarding the practice of golf once the clubs re-open. All golf courses: www.allsquaregolf.com/golf-courses/chile
Colombia Current status: 🚫 All golf courses are closed. Reopening: During the last weeks, the Colombian Golf Federation has worked on a document that is supported by international studies that have endorsed the responsible practice of golf. Germany Current status: ✅ / 🚫 Some federal states have reopened golf courses. Reopening: The lockdown is set to end on May 11th and most federal states should reopen their golf courses.

Iceland Current status: ✅ Approximately half of the golf courses are open in Iceland. Make sure to contact the course before going there as some are only open to members. Reopening: Most of the golf courses will reopen by May 20th with the other golf courses still needing to share information on when they schedule to open. Spain Current status: ✅ All golf courses are open. Borders have reopen with France and Portugal should follow shortly. Event updates: Estrellla Damm N.A. As of today, May 5, all golf courses in Ontario are closed for play. Course have been given the ok to start preparing for business.
