A Golf Trip to Pebble Beach: The Ultimate Coastal Golf Experience

At All Square we are all about bringing the world of golf and golfers together to make the game more enjoyable. Golf is always more fun when you’re playing well, so today we will introduce you to a fairly new technology that could be an invaluable tool to get you to the next-level and beyond. Here is Game Golf.
Robin S. Sharma said in his book ‘The Greatness Guide: Powerful Secrets to Getting World Class’ that ‘what gets measured gets improved’ and in sport today data is becoming a huge driver for increased performance. Of course golf is no different and with an ever increasing wealth of knowledge being given to golfers through technology such as SAM Lab putting, Trackman and V1 Golf, players have access to the kind of data once reserved for the sports greatest only. In todays Tech Thursday we’re going to introduce you to Game Golf by Active Mind Technology, another excellent tool for improving your skills.
So what is Game Golf? Founded in 2014 by John McGuire, this is a real-time shot tracker that can provide huge insights into how solid your game truly is. By adding discreet tags to your clubs and wearing a small device on your belt you can track your round with PGA Tour-like stats! We all know where the major strengths and weaknesses in our games are but when you use this great piece of kit you can’t hide from the data. Game Golf also recently launched Game Golf Live, which now brings real time shot tracking and distance range finding to your game, iOS, Android and Smart watches.

You walk up to the ball, you go through your usual shot selection process and then you tap the butt of the club onto the belt device. That’s it! The club is logged, you’re ready to go and literally all you had to do was tap the club against your device. How easy is that, especially when you consider the amount of data you’re going to pick-up from it. Mark Crossfield, the golf blogger, did a vlog on this kit and said he thinks it could be one of the most useful tools for golfers he has ever seen!
This product has the backing of some serious names too! Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell, Jim Furyk and President Obama are all users of Game Golf. This means that you can compare your skills to theirs. The company also made the system a social affair, just like All Square, by creating challenges that people can take on against anyone in the world that uses Game Golf, including Lee, Graeme, Jim and the most powerful man in the world!
By tracking your location through the GPS in the belt device all of your stats are collated in real-time. You can track how accurate you are with each club, how far each one goes and it also doubles as an incredibly accurate GPS-range finder! This really is an all-rounder in terms of developing your golf. It tracks and measures every part of your game!
John McGuire, who has a background in behavioral psychology and software engineering with Game, said “The bottom line was, if you can collect data and make it easy to visualize in an engaging way then you can create stories from the data”. Last year alone they tracked over 700,000 rounds and this number will only increase as more golfers see how useful this tech is.
So imagine the walk from the 18th green to the clubhouse bar, you’ve just played the round of your life and thanks to Game Golf you have all the data showing just how well you’ve played. You show your buddies the numbers and impress them but then you remember that you can take this feeling of accomplishment further. You quickly open the All Square app, which you used earlier to check-in to the course, and you share your joy with the golfing community at large. Life is good and you’ve earned that post-round beer more than ever before!
