Let’s take a look in the golf bag of exciting young gun Sami Valimaki, who recently became the first Finnish player to be named the European Tour’s Rookie of the Year.
The 22-year-old, from Nokia in Finland, won the Sir Henry Cotton award after an impressive 2020 season which included winning the Oman Open in just his sixth start on Tour and seven top ten finishes. He joins fellow TaylorMade staffers Martin Kaymer, Jon Rahm and Robert MacIntyre to have won the award.
He capped his year by finishing 11th in the Race to Dubai after securing a top five finish at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. In just one year he has shot up 327 places in the world golf rankings and now sits at number 69.

He also uses a SIM 3-wood and sometimes uses the TaylorMade SIM Max Rescue. This comes in and out of the bag, as does a TaylorMade P790 UDI two-iron.

Valimaki uses different models of TaylorMade wedges. His 50 and 54 degree clubs are Milled Grind 2’s, while the 58 degree is a Milled Grind Hi-Toe lob wedge.

Finally, he uses a TaylorMade Spider X Copper putter and a TP5x ball.
