The Els Club Vilamoura: Golfing Grandeur in the Algarve

Terre Blanche is a five-star resort less than an hour west of Nice among the vineyards of Provence, with two championship-level golf courses and Michelin-starred dining.
Beautifully set in rolling Provencal hills, this haven for golfers is only 45 minutes from Nice International Airport and 35 minutes from Cannes station. Close to the stunning coastline of the Cote d’Azur, it’s also home to a state-of-the-art golf academy, a luxurious spa and kids club.

The 115 suites and villas that make up the Terre Blanche Hotel are spread out as independent country houses on a hillside under a canopy of oak trees facing the local medieval villages. They range from 60 m² in size to 300 m², all with terraces while the larger options have private pools and hot tubs. The rooms are finished in natural wood and stone with chic furniture and en-suite bathrooms.
As a whole, the hotel has the idyllic feel of one of the neighbouring villages. There are two outdoor pools including a stunning infinity pool with panoramic views of the local hills, as well as an outdoor bar area.

The two courses, Le Château and Le Riou, are set among the valleys, lakes, ravines, waterfalls and forests of the Provencal countryside. Both are in immaculate condition with tree-lined fairways and lovely views across the local villages. The par 72, 7,235-yard Le Château is the more demanding with testing bunkers and greens and spectacular water features.

The par 72, 6,567-yard Le Riou is a great option for less skilled players but it’s equally beautiful with elevated tees offering glorious views. At the resort’s clubhouse, the caddie master service will take care of your golf bags and prepare your GPS-equipped golf cart. The latest TaylorMade clubs and golf shoes are also available for hire or purchase.
The Albatross Golf Performance Centre includes a driving range with 64 bays on two levels and the Toptracer Range where you can video your swing and analyse every part of your game using this state-of-the-art tool.

There’s also the TaylorMade Performance Centre which provides club fitting using Trackman technology and the Terre Blanche Golf Academy which offers courses for players of all ages, from beginners to professionals. There’s also a short game practice and development area and the Putting Lab which comes equipped with four Wellputt instructional mats and a Bigtilt XL Pro platform.

The main gourmet restaurant at the resort, Le Faventia, under the direction of head chef Christophe Schmitt, retained its Michelin star in 2024. As well as offering panoramic views over the nearby villages and hills, the food is inspired by the seasons and produce of Provence. There’s also the Wine Cellar where over 400 different wines are stored and tasting sessions are held by a team of sommeliers.
Le Gaudina is a stylish brasserie with a jazz lounge ambiance where guests can enjoy the piano player, the light yet sophisticated Mediterranean fare or a drink on the terrace. Located in the Clubhouse, Les Caroubiers offers golf course views and is a comforting environment to enjoy lunch, especially after a day on the fairways.

Le Tousco is a peaceful place to enjoy a relaxed lunch of salads, fish and homemade pizzas, while adjoining it is Le Pitchoun, for children with its own specially created menu. Finally, Le Patio offers breakfast on its sunny terrace and street food in the summer evenings.
The Spa at Terre Blanche is set within a large villa with open spaces and warm interior design where guests can choose between various signature programs and treatments. There are several massage and treatment rooms, a whirlpool bath, steam shower and an outdoor terrace.

There’s an outdoor vitality pool and an indoor heated pool bathed in natural light. The well-equipped gym offers Aquagym, Aquabike, Body Sculpt, yoga and Pilates classes, and there’s two outdoor tennis courts.
The Kids Club is supervised by a team of certified animators, in a perfectly safe place dedicated to children aged between 2 and 12. A host of activities and games are provided along with a children’s pool.
