Stay at luxurious resorts in Punta Cana on the east coast of the Dominican Republic and play at Pete Dye and Tom Fazio tropical golf courses.
Punta Cana is one of the most beautiful regions of the Caribbean and is home to luxury hotels and world-class golf courses. The region offers crystal clear waters, stunning beaches and a glorious tropical climate. It’s also close to the historic capital city of Santo Domingo, the beach paradises of Saona Island and visitors can go on various Caribbean safaris and cruises.

Tortuga Bay is situated on its own private beach within the 15,000-acre Punta Cana Resort and nature reserve, 5 km from Punta Cana Village. It’s an incredibly luxurious experience with secluded privacy and unparalleled service. Guests can select from a variety of accommodations including one bedroom Junior Suites, two bedroom Suites and three or four bedroom Villas. Each of them is located along a pristine white sandy beach. There’s four restaurants and six bars, two pools, the Six Senses spa, tennis and water sports.

Corales Golf Club was designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2009. It’s a stunning 18-hole course with six ocean-side holes. He used the natural cliffs, bays and coves of the sea and the inland lakes and quarries to make a visually striking layout. The challenge culminates at the Devil’s Elbow, the memorable final three holes. The dramatic 18th is the pick of them with its forced carry over the cliff-lined Bay of Corales. It’s an inspired and memorable ending to a breathtaking golf experience.

The Westin Punta Cana Resort & Club is one of the newest additions to the wider Punta Cana Resort. Opened in December 2013, all 200 guest rooms, including 16 suites, feature private balconies with views of lush gardens or the Caribbean, while the suites have spa-like Heavenly Showers and inviting Westin Heavenly Beds. There’s three miles of white sandy beaches, a shopping village and world-class restaurants, spa, fitness studio, large pool and two championship golf courses, Corales GC and the 27-hole La Cana.

La Cana Golf Course, designed by Pete Dye and his son Paul Burke, is a 27-hole golf complex consisting of three 9-hole loops: Tortuga, Hacienda and Arrecife. Hacienda is the newest and most inland layout, whereas Tortuga and Arrecife are scenic and very close to the Caribbean Sea. In total, La Cana boasts 14 ocean-view holes with four playing right on the water’s edge. It’s stunningly beautiful. There’s also the Oscar de La Renta-designed clubhouse and bar which provides the perfect setting for a post-round drink.

Paradisus Grand Cana is an all-inclusive hotel, located further north up the Punta Cana coast with a fantastic water park for family fun. There’s outdoor pools, a spa, beach and kids clubs, nine delicious restaurants and a swim-up bar right by the main pool. The resort is 4 km from Bavaro Beach in a peaceful setting in tropical vegetation. There’s spacious, elegantly appointed suites with fully-furnished private balconies with sunbeds and whirlpools. Select suites feature direct pool access and private sundecks. A stay here can include golf at the adjacent Cocotal Golf & Country Club.

Cocotal Golf & Country Club was designed by Pepe Gancedo and features 27 holes which weave through lush tropical jungle. Golfers can choose to play 9 holes or 18 holes, with five sets of tees and a choice of three nines: Hibiscus, Bougainvillea and Benjamin. The greens are Bermuda grass, which allows Cocotal to offer true and consistent greens all year. Built over an old coconut plantation, the course is adorned with more than 50 tree species which makes for an incredibly scenic round of golf. You can enjoy drinks and sandwiches from the on-course beverage cart during your round as well!
