Strolling hand in hand on the beach, romantic candlelight dinners, and, (erm), a round of golf?
For all those golf loving couples out there, no honeymoon would be complete without sharing a few laughs on the golf course, most probably at your new spouse’s expense. If you couldn’t bear to leave your clubs at home, then these stunning honeymoon spots are for you.
For the ultimate golf nut, there’s only one place to enjoy your honeymoon, Pebble Beach. The world’s most iconic resort is set along the world-famous Monterey Bay. Jack Nicklaus’s favourite links, the remarkable layout has played host to no less than five US Open’s.
It’s stunning collection of holes, many of which hang perilously close to the clifftop, has made the course a favourite among A-listers and PGA Tour stars.
Pebble Beach is also renowned for its world-class accommodation. There are three unique resorts— The Lodge at Pebble Beach, The Inn at Spanish Bay and Casa Palmero, all of which offer a taste of luxury and exemplary service. Whether its lodges set along Pebble Beach’s iconic fairways, a tranquil inn nestled between groves of Monterey pines and sand dunes, or a timeless lodge with its glorious oceanside setting, Pebble Beach really does have it all.
Once you’ve holed out on eighteen, discover 17-mile drive’s stunning coastal scenery. The unbeatable backdrop will make for a romantic break to savour for a lifetime.
Sun City is renowned for its glitz and glamour. It is also a resort of extremes. Where else can you base yourself to both surf-and-safari? How about teeing it up for one of the most memorable golf experiences of your life, before kicking back in the Valley of the Waves, a world-class water park? Or maybe kicking back in the luxurious accommodation, before hitting one of South Africa’s most popular casinos? Whatever it is your looking for, Sun City is likely to deliver.
The highlight, at least for golfers, is teeing it up at the two sensational Gary Player designs.
Lost City Golf Club runs adjacent to Pilanesberg National Park, the fourth largest game reserve in South Africa. The course is also home to one of the scariest hazards in golf.
A huge pit lies in wait in front of the par-3 13th green. You guessed it. Home to a float of Nile Crocodiles.
Meanwhile, Gary Player Country Club ranks among South Africa’s finest layouts. Always immaculately maintained, the extremely challenging layout carves its way through the heart of the bush.
A regular host to some of the biggest names in entertainment, make sure to see if one of your idols is performing at Sun City during your stay. It is likely to cap what will be an unforgettable honeymoon.
It’s not just Italy’s reputation as the ultimate romantic destination that makes it a great honeymoon spot. Outstanding scenery, delicious food and wine, and an unparalleled history create a unique ambience that you’ll struggle to find anywhere else on the planet. One of the country’s most beautiful regions is Lake Como. That’s where you’ll find the 5* Villa d’Este. Hailed as one of the world’s finest hotels, the opulent retreat is set on the shores of one of Europe’s most romantic lakes. The property dates to 1568 and has seen royalty walk its grand halls of the past half-millennia.
A luxury hotel since 1873, today guests can find renaissance gardens and exquisite local cuisine.
Sandwiched between the mountains and the lake, the Golf Club Villa d’Este is known as one of Europe’s toughest par-69’s. The layout winds its way through chestnut, ash and pine trees and regularly host some of Italy’s top amateur events.
If you’re dreaming about palm tree fringed beaches, crystal blue waters, and beautiful sunshine, there’s a high chance the destination you have in mind looks an awful lot like Mauritius.
Set among 213 hectares of tropical gardens the Anahita Golf & Spa Resort captures the island’s unparalleled beauty. Nestled on the east coast of the island, the five-star hotel is regarded as one of the finest and most luxurious resorts in Mauritius.
Lavishly furnished suites with private infinity pools overlooking either the sea or the two 18-holes golf courses, offer plenty of privacy for the two of you to indulge.
Complimentary golf is available for guests on both courses, the Ernie Els-designed Anahita, and Bernhard Langer’s Ile aux Cerfs.
Off the course, there’s plenty of opportunity to spoil yourselves. Foodies can go on a discovery of innovative Mauritian cuisine in the Signature restaurant. The equally delicious Origine employs an open kitchen policy, enabling guests to enjoy an interactive culinary experience. Four other restaurants offering a selection of sea and golf views, and informal and formal dining, are also spotted around the beautiful resort.
A tranquil haven, the Anahita Spa by THÉMAÉ Paris is set amid 600 m2 of the resort’s most beautiful scenery.
Was your love story written in the stars? If so, you may want to add Tenerife to your list of potential honeymoon destinations. One of the three best places on Earth for stargazing, the Spanish island is also home to some world-class golf courses. Set in year-round balmy climates, Abama offers just that, with a beautiful course known as “the Augusta of Europe”.
Located on the smooth slopes of the Pico del Teide volcano, the course features unbeatable views of the Atlantic Sea.
Why not indulge in the exceptional accommodation at The Ritz-Carlton, Abama after your round? Guests can enjoy ten restaurants and Michelin dining, the Ritz-Carlton Club, Abama spa, and the Annabel Croft tennis academy. The resort also boasts seven pools and its very own secluded beach.
With temperature averaging 21 degrees, Tenerife is the ideal getaway whichever time of year you choose to tie the knot.
Fancourt is one of the most aspiration golf resorts on the planet. What better time to make the trip then, than during your once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon vacation?
Situated along South Africa’s glorious Garden Route, the lifestyle resort boasts three exquisitely maintained Gary Player designs. The Links is the finest course, not only at Fancourt, but according to Golf Digest, throughout all South Africa.
With gigantic dunes, undulating fairways, and the Outeniqua Mountains as a backdrop, the European Tour venue is a truly remarkable feat. It’s sister courses the Montagu and Outeniqua are also outstanding layouts.
A member of the Leading Hotels of the World, a trip to the resort is about far more than just great golf. Located just seven miles from George, the luxury resort is beautifully situated between indigenous forests, the dramatic mountains, and the warm Indian Ocean. The location is matched by a truly amazing spa.
With accommodation ranging from quaint rooms in the manor to garden suites and beautiful private villas on the course itself, there really is something for everyone.
With glorious year-round sunshine, there’s never a bad time to visit Hawaii. A beautiful beachfront resort, Mauna Lani is a honeymooner’s heaven.
Nestled on the sunny Kohala Coast, the resort offers a choice of Pacific Ocean facing rooms and bungalows set amid tropical gardens. Unsurprisingly the resort’s unbelievable setting, between the jet-black lava and emerald sea, has also given rise to extraordinary terrain for golf. So much so, that the 15th hole on the South Course is one of the most photographed over-the-water golf course holes in the world.
Mauna Lani’s other facilities are equally impressive. Designed to resemble a Hawaiian village, the tranquil spa is complete with thatched huts and natural lava saunas.
Meanwhile the iconic restaurant, the oceanfront CanoeHouse, is a culinary wonder, with amazing views of the crystal blue Pacific to match.
Mauna Lani has also been named one of the world’s Top Luxury Eco-Friendly Beach Destinations by Condé Nast Traveler. Part of this mission has been raising sea turtles in saltwater ponds before releasing them back into the wild. It’s a spectacle you don’t want to miss.
Once the butt of the jokes, Tasmania is Australia’s new ‘’it’’ destination. It’s easy to see why. Outstanding vineyards, untouched wilderness, and two truly unbelievable golf courses make for an iconic adventure.
Set between stark beaches and farmland, the unbridled beauty of the island state’s north coast has helped forge the two brilliant layouts at Barnbougle.
The Dunes Course is unlike any links you’ve ever encountered and regularly ranks among the world’s top twenty layouts. Meanwhile, the newer addition, Lost Farm, is of a similarly high standard and features 20-holes that wind through the dramatic coastal dunes.
For the ultimate honeymoon getaway, be sure to stay at the club’s private golf view lodges or beachfront cottages. Off the course, the tranquil spa will help renew the mind and body, while the food and wine experience will leave you almost as inspired as the course itself.
Diamante brands itself as paradise. In truth, it’s hard to disagree. A luxury resort set in 1.5 miles of secluded duneland, Diamante features two championship courses, including Tiger Woods’ first signature design, El Cardonal Course. Carving its way along pristine beachfront on the Pacific Ocean, the other layout, the Davis Love lll designed The Dunes Course, currently ranks at No. 36 in GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 courses in the world. The course is truly spectacular.
A 10-acre crystal pool lies at the heart of the resort. Overlooked by the magnificent dunes, the area is ideal for relaxing after a day on the course or enjoying a range of family-activities.
There is a vast selection of other amenities to enjoy, including a state-of-the-art spa, a fitness centre, and several bars and restaurants. There is also mile-upon-mile of walking and hiking trails, perfect for a romantic post-round stroll.
Whether it’s fine dining, pampering spa treatments to luxurious accommodation and splendid weather, Constance Lemuria Seychelles has it all.
Romantic moments abound at every turn. Lunch barefoot at the divine Takamaka beach restaurant, or enjoy a late evening cocktail while watching the rippling waves of the Indian Ocean at the resort’s selection of bars.
Meanwhile, the chic suites and villas are built to an exceptional standard. Unwind in your private pool, or indulge yourself with the help of your own private chef. Whatever you choose, it’s likely to be an unforgettable experience.

I had the great opportunity to visit Pebble, Lani, and Diamante all three great destinations. If you can get into Diamante Resort don’t turn up that chance. Wonderful place to spend a week.
So beautiful that I want to go right now. Thanks a lot for your share.
